Trimester II

Background

• Christmas & New Year are increasingly becoming more popular in India due to the western influence

• Indians spend in a variety of ways on these 2 occasions:– Greeting Cards– Gifts– Trips– Celebrations

Project Scope

• Form a ‘Partnership Firm’ with a life of 30 days– Date of Incorporation: 23rd Nov., 09– Date of Dissolution: 23rd Dec., 09

• Firm has to undertake a product / service oriented business which drives sales on account of Christmas / New Year

Project Scope

• Firm will only deal in ‘ANY ONE’ product / service and will at no stage have a portfolio

• Firm needs to do the following:– Firm Creation through a Deed– Idea Generation, Testing & Finalisation– Product / Service Development– Mix Development– Launch– Sales– Winding Up

Faculty Interaction

• Stage 1: Deed with Aims & Objectives

• Stage 2: Idea Finalisation

• Stage 3: Final Mix

• Stage 4: Final Results

Rules

• Idea must be original• Product / Service development can be

outsourced but has to be undertaken specifically for the firm

• Firm cannot undertake only trading activity• Firm can also not undertake an event• Product / Service has to be only one• No illegal means / activities can be

conducted at any stage

Capital

• Partners can raise the capital through any one of the following ways:– Own Funds– Soft Loans– Loan from GIBM @ 21% for the month

Winding Up

• On the 23rd Dec., 09 at 1200 hours, each firm will cease to exist

• Partners need to make a presentation on:– Product / Service Idea– Mix Development– Launch / Promotion– Final Results– Key Learnings / Mistakes

Evaluation

• Evaluation will be made on the basis of the final presentation by a panel of faculty members on the following criteria:– Strength of the Idea– Quality of Mix– Sales– Profitability

• Surprise checks will be made on the working of all groups and any group can be disqualified at any stage

Evaluation

• On the basis of the marks, the grades will be allotted to all the members of the firm

• Winners in addition to getting the highest marks will get the following gift from my side:– All expenses paid trip to Essel World, Mumbai

on Christmas

Disbursal of Proceeds

• The proceeds raised by every group will be disbursed in the following manner:– 50% will be used to buy Christmas Gifts for

children of Akanksha Foundation– 50% will be kept aside for a ‘Christmas Eve’

batch party on the 24th December, 09
