function overview

SNS involves much of sharing photos, videos and messages. There will be more desire for sharing moments with others and the sharing methods will increase as well.

Page 6: Project orange

Interface is not limited to a particular website, but it could be contact lenses, watch, glasses, necklace, which is physically closer in personal reach. Also SNS will incorporate various technologies such as gesture/motion recognition and voice recognition.

Now we see the interfaces on screen with physical devices but we would be able to project an interface (screen) with hologram anytime and anywhere. It will also give auditory or tactile feedbacks utilising Artificial Intelligence.

Also the contents offered by SNS would be personalised to users. And SNS would work as a search engine as well. As SNS provides more personalised contents, those personalised contents would have bigger decision making power.

Calls, messages, e-mail, personal apps (scheduling, alarm, notes etc.) all become integrated into SNS with no specific interface limited to a “website.”

Online interaction will be as active as offline interaction now. SNS will have another form of Virtual Reality. People would feel as if they are in another world where everything they do is tracked down and presented like the game SIMS.

We would be able to teleport with holograms and Augmented Reality programs.

Page 16: Project orange

user scenario

Mina likes to share photos with those who have interest in photography. One day, she sees a beautiful scenery as she walks along the street. She captures the scenery with 360 degree camera and immediately uploads the captured moment on SNS. As her friends get notified by her newest posting, they review it in different formats. They see it as it is presented. They also move into a virtual space where they can experience with all their senses. However, when Mina does not want to share her moment with everyone she invites her friends in a private mode so they can join her at real time instead of publishing her post publicly.

Mina comes back from her work. She projects a screen to see her friends’ postings. She looks through the news feed sitting on a sofa. Soon she feels hungry. So she moves to the kitchen. She fixes the screen on the wall in front of the sink. As she starts cooking, she search for a recipe for oil pasta on SNS. It brings her to a posting on the Facebook page that she often visits. And automatically the video for the recipe she searched for plays.

After her husband leaves for work, Gyeongja takes a break. She sits on the sofa and has a conversation with her friend through the interface. As she engages in the conversation, she suddenly can’t recall a word. She knows what the word is but is unable to recall the exact word. The network system catches Gyeongja’s bewildered facial expression and provides a set of words based on the database and the analysis of the context in the conversation. Gyeongja continues the conversation with the word she selects from the given options. With this system, Gyeongja has been able to express her thoughts more accurately and effectively.
