One Mile Ovals Revitalisation

Summary Council and the State Government have allocated funding in the 2018/19 financial year to upgrade infrastructure at the One Mile Ovals site, Gympie; as shown in the plan of work overleaf.

Works proposed The One Mile Ovals project will undertake major upgrades and redevelopment of two existing ovals and facilities. The project will result in more effective use of the grounds and make available additional sporting facilities for targeted events and sports. In line with the One Mile Masterplan, One Mile Ovals project will undertake:

• improvements and expansion to existing ovals,

• improved facilities, seating and amenities,

• installation of two turf wicket blocks for ovals, and

• upgraded lighting to the main oval

With the assistance from Energex under a local community initiative two existing timber light poles with be removed and reused within the site, along with a new timber light pole supplied and installed.

Traffic management During construction access to the site may be affected for short durations. Your patience during construction is appreciated. Traffic management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all road users.

Timing Construction is programmed to commence in early 2019, subject to weather.
