Welcome on-board the Dare to Dream trip for 2016!

Wow, what an incredible rollercoaster the last twelve months have been. Project Gen Z started as a pipe dream after a visit to Cambodia a few years before, and in just six months that dream became a reality as 18 of the most fun, passionate and most amazing Entrepreneurs joined me on a truly life changing trip that I cannot put into words. WWe managed to raise $130,000 for the children at Sunrise which will make a huge difference. Not just that though, the education they received though the Dare to Dream Workshops & Apprentice challenge changed their lives… we all saw it happen right in front of our eyes.

We shared laughs, tears, fun and a life changing experience together.

I hope you are excited?! The purpose of our trip this year will be to inspire and educate 400 children. We want them to dream bigger, and through our knowledge and experience as entrepreneurs and business owners, we will pass on our skills to help them take that step forward in life. forward in life.

I won’t even attempt to try to prepare you for this experience! Just know that you will leave your business one person, and will come back another. You will have a new way of looking at things;; you will have built relationships with the team that will last forever;; and you will know in your heart that the children you have spent time at Sunrise will always remember what you taught them.

Liz & Jesse, Founders.

Over 10 life-changing days you see some of Cambodia’s incredible sites;; learn about the culture and history;; meet some amazing children, and get to share this experience with 29 other successful Entrepreneurs. It will be an emotional rollercoaster, and an important personal development journey that will change you in ways you cannot imagine.

WWe will spend 5 days at Sunrise Children’s Villages with the amazing founder Geraldine Cox and up to 400 Sunrise children. It will be here that you participate in running the Dare to Dream workshop series. Our goal will be to educate, inspire and motivate the children to dream big. With an Apprentice style challenge we will give the children the opportunity to start and run a business in just a day, and allow us to pass on valuable skills that the children at Sunrise can use as they step out into the big wide world.

Individual Fundraising Target: $6000Group Fundraising Target: $200,000

We have chosen to raise funds this year for Sunrise. To achieve our group target Project Gen Z will run a number of big events through the year, so keep an eye on our social media for details.

Our fundraising will benefit Cambodian kids in residential care like Our fundraising will benefit Cambodian kids in residential care like Waew (pronounced wow). She came to Sunrise Cambodia at the age of 10 after being horrifically injured in an acid attack and sold into a criminal begging ring. Waew was given a safe place to live, good, healthy food, an education and specialist medical care. She is now finishing high school with the support of Sunrise Cambodia and is one of the friendliest and most optimistic humans you could ever meet. She is an inspiration to all of us. The money you raise will go directly to community development projects, supporting families and communities as a whole.families and communities as a whole. Almost half the population of Cambodia does not have access to clean water, and many are in desperate need of safe, comfortable housing with proper sanitation. Sometimes all the village needs is a little extra support or infrastructure to stay above the poverty line and keep their kids safe and well. Along with installing water pumps for access to clean water and constructing safe housing, your fundraising will support Sunrise Cambodia in giving healthcare and schooling for Cambodian communities.

Fundraising Options Fundraising Options

There are a number of ways you can conquer your fundraising!

1. Fundraise your heart out to reach or exceed your $6,000 fundraising minimum and cover your travel costs yourself. 2. You (or your workplace, a family member or family trust) may choose to make a single donation of $6,000 or more and claim the tax deduction. 3. You can fundraise as much as you can in the time given and personally donate the balance of the total. 4. You can opt to fundraise the entire amount – the charity donation and your travel costs. You must let Sunrise Cambodia & Project Gen Z know if this is your intention. Funds raised for your travel cost must be done so separately to fundraising for the charity. Donations for travel costs cannot be made through your online page and donors must understand that their donation towards your travel expenses are not tax deductible. Cake sales and car washes (fees for a service) are the best way to do this.

If you have registered as a team of two your team goal will be $10,000 but If you have registered as a team of two your team goal will be $10,000 but experience has told us that teams sail past the $15k mark, so don’t limit yourselves!
