Tussen hemel en aarde
‘Tussen hemel een aarde’ is een verwijzing naar de prachtige luchten rondom Reigersborg te Hoogkarspel. In de zes brugleu-ningen wordt een tijdsspanne van zonsopgang tot zonsondergang overbrugd. Gedurende de dag verplaatst de zon zich van oost naar west. De verschillende kleurschakeringen die hierbij ten-toongespreid worden, vertalen zich in de leuningen van de brug.

Between heaven and earth
‘Between heaven and earth’ is a reference to the beautiful skies around Hoogkarspel. The bridge railings capture a timeframe from sunrise to sunset. During the day the sun moves from east to west. The different colours which are displayed during this timeframe are translated into the railings of the bridges.

In cooperation wih the landscape and urban architects HOSPER, Carmela Bogman has designed furniture for the square of C-M!ne, a former mining site. The urban environment of the square with its cultural, creative, design and recreational functions, is situated in Genk (Belgium) and surrounded by the Media and Design Academy, the Euroscoop and the Design Centre.
Under the authority of the city of Genk, realization 2012.

In samenwerking met HOSPER landschapsarchitectuur en Stedebouw, heeft Carmela Bogman meubilair ontworpen voor het plein van C-M!ne, een voormalige mijn site. Dit stedelijke plein met culturele, creatieve, design en recreatieve functies, bevindt zich in Genk en wordt omringd door onder andere de Media en Design Academie, de Euroscoop en het Design Centrum.
In opdracht van de stad Genk, realisatie 2012.
Pop-Up / De ingrediënten liggen letterlijk op straat
In de wijk Lombok in Utrecht is de eerste Pop-Up geplaatst. De Pop-Up, een meubel voor de openbare ruimte, is een ontwerp van Carmela Bogman en Rogier Martens.De Pop-Up is een meubel dat door de bewoners zelf uit de grond ‘gepompt’ kan worden. Dit betekent dat de bewoners zelf kunnen bepalen wanneer ze gebruik willen maken van het object en op wel-ke manier. Na gebruik pomp je de Pop-Up weer terug in de grond met als resultaat een rustig straatbeeld zonder obstakels. Maar mocht je het willen gebruiken dan liggen alle ingrediënten letter-lijk op straat.
De Pop-Up is tot stand gekomen met de bewoners van Complex 507 in opdracht
van Stichting Wishing Well West. Realisatie mei 2010.
Pop-Up / All the ingredients are right there on the street
In the quarter Lombok in the city of Utrecht, The Netherlands, the first Pop-Up is placed. The Pop-Up, a furniture for the public space, is a design of Carmela Bogman and Rogier Martens.The Pop-Up is a furniture that can be pumped out of the pavement by the inhabitants. This means that the inhabitants have the free-dom to decide for themselves, when they want to use the Pop-Up and in which way. After using the Pop-Up it is pumped back into the pavement creating a peaceful street scene without any obsta-cles. But if you feel like using the Pop-up, all the ingredients are right there on the street.
The Pop-Up is realized together with the inhabitants of the quarter Complex 507 in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and was an assignment of the foundation Wishing Well West. Realized in May 2010.
Vreemde Vogels
In het unieke industriële landschap van ECN te Petten, waar in-dustrie en techniek wordt omringd door fraaie flora en fauna, wordt het energieopwekkend kunstwerk Vreemde Vogels ge-plaatst. Deze opvliegende zwerm vogels draait in het rond; als een kloppend hart met de hallucinerende aantrekkingskracht van een zwerm spreeuwen in het najaar en een knipoog naar het mys-terie uit de film Birds van Alfred Hitchcock.
Winnaar project Voor de Wind. Realisatie gepland 2010. In opdracht van Created in Noord Holland.
Strange Birds
In the unique industrial landscape of ECN in Petten, where tech-nologie and nature meet. The energy generating artwork Vreemde Vogels will be placed. This swarm birds spins around; it moves of large to small, as a heartbeat with hallucinating force of attrac-tion, and a wink to the mystery of the film Birds of Alfred Hitch-cock.

Limes Miles De Limes is de grens van het voormalige Romeinse Rijk. De behoefte aan een kunstwerk in Gelderland die de Limes laat herleven is groot. Limes Miles is niet alleen een ode aan de reislust en expansiedrang maar vooral ook aan de daadkracht om wiskundige kennis om te zetten in functionerende ontwerpen. Limes Miles is een beeldende vertaling van de odometer, de eerste kilometerteller. Met behulp van spierkracht zet men het wiel in beweging. de afstand is af te lezen van het object. Meervoudig schetsontwerp i.o.v. de provincie Gelderland, 2010.
Limes Miles
The Limes is the former roman border. The province of Gelderland felt the need for an artwork to revive the Limes. Limes Miles is not only an ode to the roman expansionism but also to the decisiveness to trans-late mathematic knowledge into working objects. Limes Miles is an ar-tistic translation of the odometer, a roman invention. With the help of muscular strength the wheel is put to movement. The distance is shown by the object itself.

Het Mozaïek van El Faroeq
Om in de openbare ruimte meer mogelijkheden te creëren voor echte ontmoetingen, heeft stadsdeel Zeeburg het project Buurt-tafel gestart. De intentie van het project is om in overleg met de buurt een tafel te maken die dient als ontmoetingsplek voor deze buurt. Het Mozaïek is tot stand gekomen in samenwerking met de kinderen van basisschool El Faroeq Omar. Aan de hand van workshops, gesprekken met de kinderen en tekeningen van hun ideale tafel, is het uiteindelijke ontwerp van Het Mozaïek van El Faroeq bepaald.

The Mosaic of El Faroeq
To create more possibilities in public space for real interaction, the quarter Zeeburg has initiated the project neighbourhood ta-ble. The intention of the project is to create a table in consulta-tion with the neighbourhood that serves as a meeting place.The Mosaic of El faroeq came about with the children of the pri-mary school El Faroeq Omar. Workshops, conversations and drawings led to the final design of The Mosaic of El Faroeq.

Perm Embankment City Park, Rusland
Het nieuwe stadspark van Perm, een ontwerp van Bureau Alle Hosper, is de eerste stap in een grote transformatie van de gehele stad en haar omgeving. Het ontwerp voor het Embankment City Park heeft als uit-gangspunt de kwaliteiten in het bestaand park te gebruiken. De vormentaal van het park is geïnspireerd op een belangrijk moment in de natuurlijke kalender, het breken van het ijs in de lente. De vormen van de paden, muurtjes, grondvlakken en kiosken refereren hieraan en geven het park daarmee een sterke herkenbaarheid. Als tegenwicht op deze expressieve vormentaal krijgt het meubilair, een ontwerp van Car-mela Bogman in samenwerking met Bureau Alle Hosper, in het park een simpele en stevige basisvorm. De bescheidenheid in de basisvorm wordt gecombineerd met subtiele details in Russische houtbewerking en deco-ratie. Zo wordt van een traditionele Russische ambacht een uniek en beeldbepalend onderdeel van het park gemaakt.

Perm Embankment City Park, Russia
The City of Perm is about to establish a new address on the river Kama. The Embankment Park strategy is to seize and enhance existing en emer-gent qualities in the park.The formal language of the landscape is inspired by one of the defining events in the natural calender; the breaking of the ice in Spring. The paths in the sloping grass planes take on the form of cracks between ice flows. Cutting into the topography with retaining walls a distinctive angular language is established which will become the signature of the Embankment Park, a design of Bureau Alle Hosper. As a counterweight to the expressive angular forms the smaller scale furniture elements, designed by Carmela Bogman, such as benches and lighting are more modest and sober. Traditional Russian wood craft touches are added to these modern pieces to represent a proud local history in
wood techique and decoration.

Het meubilair voor het Perm Embankment City Park, heeft als uitgangs-punt een simpele en stevige basisvorm. De bescheidenheid in de basis- vorm wordt gecombineerd met subtiele details in Russische houtbewer-king en decoratie. Zo wordt van een traditionele Russische ambacht een uniek en beeldbepalend onderdeel van het park gemaakt. Iedere bank heeft een combinatie van verschillende gedraaide houtenelementen, waardoor elke bank weer net even anders is.

Traditional Russian wood craft touches are added to these modern pieces to represent a proud local history in wood techique and decoration. For example every bench has a combination of different wooden elements, with the result that not a single bench is exactly the
same.

Urban jewellery
Omheinen is populair.Het Nederlandse landschap wordt steeds meer gedomineerd door hekwerken met identieke afschrikwekkende prikkels en punten. Een hek heeft echter twee functies: tegen-houden en verwelkomen. Urban jewellery is een hek als een aantrekkelijk sieraad, met roterende kralen die ervoor zorgen dat eroverheen klimmen erg moeilijk is.

Heijplaat is a world full of mysterious creatures. Big and un-known. The skeletons are already there, the only thing missing is the skin. Dressed with cloth, these building are the head citizens of the wilderness. the Rulers of Heijplaat.

De heersers van Heijplaat
Heijplaat is een wereld vol mysterieuze wezens. Groot en on-bekend. De skeletten staan er al het enige wat ze missen is de huid. Aangekleed met doek vormen deze bouwwerken de hoofdbe-woners van de wildernis. De heersers van Heijplaat.

Gestrikt
Een follie is een bouwwerk dat voor het eerst in de engelse land-schapstuin werd toegepast. Het werd gebruikt om de tuin span-nender te maken en diende vaak als experiment en uitkijkpunt. Bij Gestrikt dient de boom als drager en verschilt de vorm van de follie per boom. Zacht wiegend in de wind wordt Gestrikt een or-ganisch onderdeel van de boom, om uit te rusten of te spelen.

Knitted
A folly is an architectural object that was first built in the Eng-lish landscape garden. It was meant to spice up the garden and was often used to experiment and as a viewing point to discover other follies. Using the tree as a skeleton, the form will always be different. Softly waving in the wind, Gestrikt becomes an or-ganic part of the tree, to rest or to play.

GO Live
In oktober 2010 lanceerde BNO de Groene Offerte. De website voor kennis, inspiratie en contacten op het gebied van duurzaam ontwerpen. In juni 2011 vindt de eerste GO live plaats met als thema: Afval als duurzame bouwsteen. Het fysieke verlengstuk van de Groene Offerte, waar men kan praten over duurzaamheid, producten kan zien en aanraken en gelijkgezinden ontmoet.
GO live wordt georganiseerd door Femke Glas (BNO) en Carmela Bogman.
GO Live
In October 2010 BNO launched the Groene Offerte (Green Ten-der). The website for knowledge, inspiration and contacts on sus-tainable design. In June 2011 the first GO Live will take place with the theme: Waste as a sustainable material. The physical ex-tension of the Groene Offerte, where one can talk about sustain-ability, see interesting products and meet like-minded designers.
