Spearheaded by Shri. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology.

Total Revamping of Postal Image Aim of Project : To make Postal process more

customer oriented and provide better service to citizens especially those in rural areas.

Project is all about transformation and change in postal Department and to incorporate a greater degree of efficiency.

Features of the Project The DOP has developed standardized Interiors and exteriors

blue prints for 500 Post Offices and has installed uniform modular furniture across the Post Offices.

All mails and parcels will henceforth be traced till the time they are not delivered to the desired destination.

Specialized training package for the staff of the Post Offices has been designed and training initiated.

Department of Posts has partnered with Oglivy and Mather and has designed a new logo and new uniforms to keep up with its new image. New Designs are being given to the Post Office counters and letter boxes.

The Department of Post has also partnered with Consultancy firm Mckinsey and Co. to form a complete turnaround strategy for the department.

Implementation of the Project

Under the project 500 Post Offices have received a makeover till 31/12/2008.

In the first phase of this project 50 Post offices across the country were covered.

The rest of the 450 Post Offices have been completed in the month of December 2008 based on the success of the pilot project.

4500 Post offices have been selected in the 3rd phase. One of which is your office.

Project Arrow in Goa Region

In Goa Region consisting of Kolhapur, Sangli, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg Divisions of Maharashtra State and Goa State, 84 Post Offices have been selected in the third phase of Project Arrow.

To understand the areas of improvement, action points may be referred to.

Action on the points needs to be taken up with immediate effect as the project is a time bound process.
