● Hand injuries account for 17% of all workday injuries.[1]

● The most common amputation of the upper extremities is the

loss of one or more fingers.[2]

o Reasons for these amputations include cardiovascular disease, traumatic

accidents, infection, tumors, nerve injury (trophic ulceration), and congenital

anomalies.

● Concept Selection

o Good ideas and Bad ideas

Ex. Original trigger idea (“Josh’s Big Failure”)

o What worked and what didn’t

o Had to become one with our inner one-fingered persona

Design Process

Page 18: Project 1 The One-Finger Mug Team 8 Josh Lamb, Judah Jamison, Jacob Barrientos, Bridget Fay Junfeng Ma October 10, 2014

● Concept Selection

o The concept selection process consisted of the members

of our group trying to determine what the most important

attributes were to include in the final product

Design Process

Page 19: Project 1 The One-Finger Mug Team 8 Josh Lamb, Judah Jamison, Jacob Barrientos, Bridget Fay Junfeng Ma October 10, 2014

We spent hours in deep thought

Design Process

Page 20: Project 1 The One-Finger Mug Team 8 Josh Lamb, Judah Jamison, Jacob Barrientos, Bridget Fay Junfeng Ma October 10, 2014

We spent hours reading literature on other designs

Design Process

And after the long process of determining what to leave in, we came up with

different combinations of the attributes that we believed were the best
