    Description of problem: In the Spanking and Corporal Punishment Survey respondents

    were asked a series of questions and what one believes to be correct in their life. The

    description of problem would just consist of the different responses to the matter at

    hand.

    Attributes to be measured: This survey is a questionnaire that several students

    participated in. However, the attributes to be measured in this survey is how people

    relate in certain areas and disagree in others. For example the different percentages

    between men and women and age and classification are being measured throughout

    this survey.

    Hypotheses, expectation: The variables are related causally due to the fact all the

    variables are background variables. This survey left me with several expectations. The

    spanking and corporal punishment survey deals with univariate , bivariate , and

    multivariate tables. Univariate basically is the explanation of the distribution of cases on

    only one variable at a time. On the other hand, bivariate and multivariate both deals

    with two or more variables. Which are aimed to explanation, and that is an explanation

    of causality. I believe all the variables will be measured differently because all the

    respondents all responded in several different ways.

    Rationale: The variables are related in a manner I predicted due to the fact that

    background variables such as age, gender, and classification all are related in a way.

    However, with there being a lot of respondents the percentages are going to be similar in

    some cases and different in others. The bivariate and multivariate tables show the

    difference in class and gender and how more freshman did the survey than other

    classes. When it comes to gender the man and women had different percentages with

    all the questions asked the women had a higher percentage.

    This pie graph is an explanation of what the age background variable is all

    about. The spanking and corporal punishment survey results of age are reported

    to be that the community under 21 has the higher percentage for taking the

    survey. However, secondly the students raging from 21-24 are the prime people

    who participated as well.

    The classification graph is just showing what class had higher measures in the

    spanking and corporal punishment survey. Here is the explanation of who

    participated and the sophomore class with 29% had the higher rate. On the

    other hand, the vet school students came in lastly with 3 % which was the lowest

    percentage.

    The gender graph shows how more women than man participated in this survey

    study. It has been said that on college campuses there are always a higher

    percentage in female students than male students. With that being said that can

    be a reason why more women surveyed at 57% and then males only surveyed at

    43% rather than half and half.

    This graph is based on information from question one and how all the

    respondents responded to that particular question. More than half of the

    respondents at 78.48% believe that it is okay to spank children as a means of

    discipline.

    This graph is the explanation of what students feel about their lives and their

    background. 9% of students stated that they parents did spank them and 91%

    said they did not get spanked as a child.

    This graph shows how half women and male students feel about should a parent

    spank or use any type of discipline on that child. The percentages were 50% on

    both sides.

    63.9 % of students said yes to does corporal punishment work better than any

    other disciplinary methods. The 30.8 percent of people believes that it does not

    and other routes can be taken or avoided.

    The students at Tuskegee University all surveyed to this question. 84.8% of the

    students said they have never been in any trouble with the police and 15.1 said

    they have been in trouble.

    This question was a shock to me when the respondents surveyed. Most

    students believe they shouldve got the discipline they received as a child. More

    than nearly half of the students responded to yes at 86.6%, and 13.13% believes

    otherwise.

    This question is where all the respondents put their honest answer on what their

    parenting skills will be like years from now. However, 29.9 % rated 3 which is in

    the middle that they will use discipline to correct there childrens behavior. In

    second place 28.8 % rated 5 which is the highest on if they will spank their child

    by any means necessary.
