FRANCE IS THE COORDINATOR COUNTRY.

THE OTHER PARTNERS ARE GERMANY AND CZECH REPUBLIC.

OUR PROJECT WILL LAST FOR TWO YEARS.

3 STAFF WILL BE LEADING 25 STUDENTS UNTIL THE END OF THE

PROJECT.

OUR SCHOOL: DLEK SABANCI HIGH SCHOOL

Our school is located in Ataehir, Kkbakkalky. The school wasconstracted in 1997 and it was named after Dilek Sabanc who is the

daughter of succesful businessman, Sakp Sabanc.Today Dilek SabancHigh School is a continually developing family with 2000 students and 80

teachers. Our school has 2 science and technology labs, a library which

provides students and staff for study, leisure and personal growth with

materials. 4 computer labs. In all classes we have projectors, internet

access, TVs, DVD players. Our mission is educating not only the children

but also their families and our local community.

THE AIM OF THE PROJECT

Our comenius project is called "Our Ideal and Virtual European Country"

It started in August 2009 and is going to end in May 2011. Our project is

about having a European identity. By creating our ideal European

country, we hope our students will reach this aim. They will improve

their knowladge about all of the European countries. We motivate our

students to change their feelings. We would like to integrate this into

curriculum. By arranging workshops and Europe weeks in our school, we

are planning to share our activities with the other local institutions andcreate an awereness for each kind of European cooperation activities.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

The Project seeks to develop knowledge and understanding amongyoung people and educational staff of the diversity of Europeancultures, languages and values.

It helps young people acquire the basic life skills and competencesnecessary for their personal development, for future employment andfor active citizenship.

Our first aim will be to cooperate across Europe, to know one anotherbetter to support and improve the European identity.

Creating this virtual and ideal country makes students aware ofoutstanding aspects of the countries participating and other Europeancountries.

Our Project gives the students the opportunity to learn more aboutother countries and their cultures, traditions, lifestyles and politics inEurope.

Our Project raises our students' curiosity and to make themappreciate other cultures' achievements and to integrate theseaspects in creating a new country they could project themselves into.

Our Project increases motivation for learning second language andlearning-to-learn skills.

It reinforces the creativity and innovation

Preparatory Meeting

January 18-22, 2009

Bordeaux / France

Preparatory meeting was held between January 18-22 in Bordeaux . Theproject is coordinated by France. We talked about the aim of our Projectand arranged the 2-year-working plan. The next meeting dates andplaces are pointed out.The project was born at this first preparatorymeeting

The First Work Meeting

October 04-08, 2009

Wetzlar / Germany

The first work meeting of our Project called "Our Ideal And Virtual

European Country was held in Wetzlar between 04-08 October, 2009.

On 08th March, we were met by our German colleagues at the

airport. The students were introduced to their host families. We were

welcomed so warmly

On 05th October, we were taken to Werner-Won-Siemens schule

from the hotel. When we met our students at school they told us thatthey were so contented with the two cultures. It was the time the

stereotypes about the two cultures were broken. Our students attended

the lessons with their host friends and learned about their education

system, life styles, etc. The headmaster of the school made an opening

speech. Special sessions of multimedia presentations were carried out.

The students and teachers presented about each others countries . They

presented audio visual shows. By this way we've started to exchange

cultural information among the countries. On 6th and 7th October we

joined the sightseeing trips organised by our German colleagues.

Wetzlar, Weimar and Erfurt were introduced to us with the guidance of

school teachers with all the historical, social and cultural aspects.

Finally the teachers had a summing up meeting. The next meeting topics

were underlined. It was a wonderful workmeeting of Comenius project.

We really had a nice time and we all think that the aim of the Project is

achieved.It was decided that the next meeting will be held in stanbul on

05-09 May 2010.

The aim of four partner schools from Turkey, Czech Republic,Germany,and France was to get to know and understand each other better byresearching and presenting our schools, cities, job markets, traditionsand culture.

Teachers were educated on moodle by German computer tecnology

teachers.

We learned a lot about our partners' traditions, and made our ownculture richer by accepting new ideas and values. Young people becamemore confident, in fact, they came to the conclusion that there

are very little differences between them, and that they are like brothersand sisters

We went sightseeing trips to Wetzlar, Weimar and Erfurt.

The students had a lot of activities: bowling, dancing, singing traditionalsongs, exploring Wetzlar, trips to Weimar,and Erfurt. Now they knowthat they are friends forever!

The students stayed with the German families. They established great

friendships.

We hope we contributed to the dialogue between people of various

nationalities and backgrounds.
