Progression of my Contents Page

Page 2: Progression Of My Contents

On my contents page, I firstly started by copying my ‘MNR’ logo on to a banner at the top of the page. I used the same themed colours, and changed the word ‘contents’ to italics for variety. I also added the Issue number in a small font at the top right, and also added a thin black strip banner at the top and bottom of the contents to

make the page feel more complete.

ORIGINAL PHOTO EDITED PHOTONext, I needed to include a photo on my contents page that will be featured in my

magazine. The main photo I will use is this photo of Megan, as she is the main feature in my magazine. For variety, I will use a completely different looking photo to

the one on the front cover, and also this photo is very bold which will hopefully attract readers to go to the page where it is featured.

I added my edited photo of Megan on to the page, and then added text overlapping part of the image, whilst making sure it was still easy to read. I used the same fonts I used on the front cover (TW Cen MT Condensed and Kozuka Mincho Pro), yet used a

variety of sizes and colours and coloured boxes to make page numbers and sub headings stand out.

Underneath the photo of Megan, I then added another sub heading which is in the same style as the ‘>> ON THE COVER’ sub heading, and then listed more page

numbers with information. I didn’t make the page numbers stand out as much this time however as they are not as bigger features as the ones on the top right of the

page. This list of contents is a smaller font then the other list, as well.

To complete the page, I then added the other photo of ‘Jack B’ which makes the page look more interesting as it now has two bold images. Underneath the photo, I placed

a quote from ‘Jack B’ which is taken from the magazine feature on him, and this again makes the reader want to read more about it. I kept the box simple however

with black coloured writing, and italics for the quote.

This is an enlarged image of a box about subscribing to MNR Magazine.I highlighted the key words in the box my changing the colour and increasing the font size, and also made it stand out on the whole page by giving the box a 3D shadow. Then, in small print I give contact details to apply.

This is my finished front cover. I am happy with the way it looks, as it looks busy with information

and pictures yet isn’t hard to follow, which is key for a

contents page.

I like the theme I have continued with and will carry on

using this in my double page spread as well.

My contents page also reminds me of Q Magazine which had

initially influenced my planned layout when I researched into

contents pages.
