PROGRAMS FOR PROFESSIONALS Business English This part-time program is designed for professionals and business-oriented students who want to focus on English for the business environment. The program includes 15 hours of study per week. It offers: an intensive, integrated curriculum of prerequisite Business Analytics courses, GMAT preparation, and a focus on critical academic skills for international students preparing to enter the MS Business Analytics program at Cal State East Bay. Come meet other international students who are learning about American culture and practicing their English-conversation skills. Each week we will have a separate theme (such as college prep or music). We’ll have classes in the morning and fun activities in the afternoon, and you can practice your English with your local host family in the evening.

Requirements for Admission:• Education: Upper level in high school (in final two

years of secondary school)• Parent permission for students under age 18• Visa: Approved tourist visa to visit the U.S

Dates – participants may attend from two to four weeks:

Intensive IELTS PreparationThis full-time exam-preparation course prepares students for the IELTS Academic exam. Students will become familiar with the format and requirements of the IELTS exam, learn test-taking strategies and techniques, and get detailed feedback from the instructor on practice test results.

• Taught by instructors with advanced degrees and extensive experience in preparing students for the IELTS exam.

• 5 hours of instruction per day

Requirements for Admission:• High school diploma or equivalent (age 18-up)• F-1 student visa (I-20 will be provided)

Visiting Student ProgramRegister for 12 or more units (4 or more undergraduate classes) and attend classes with regularly admitted students. Choose classes from any of the 50 undergraduate majors at Cal State East Bay (on a class- & seat-availability basis).

• Earn university credits while meeting and making friends with fellow students from around the U.S. and around the world

• Become part of the university community for the summer and explore Bay Area attractions.

• Use all university facilities (library, recreation, health center, dining, etc.)

Requirements for Admission:• High school diploma or equivalent (age 18-up)• F-1 student visa (I-20 will be provided)• IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 71

Intensive English ProgramThis program teaches English language skills including general English and English for academic preparation. The curriculum offers seven levels of instruction from beginning to advanced.

• Taught by instructors with advanced degrees and extensive experience working with inter-national English learners.

• Small class sizes of 15 students per class• 18-20 hours of instruction per week

English Summer Camp
