Youth ProgramsSKATEBOARDING LESSONSNEST’s (North East Skateboarding Trust) experienced skateboarders will provide one hour, age appropriate,skateboarding lessons (in a small group setting) while maintaining a fun atmosphere. We maintain a ratio of 1instructor to 6 participants or less. In the event of inclement weather classes will not be canceled. We wouldgo to the pavilion and use our portable equipment along with showing skateboard videos. It is recommendedparticipants bring their own helmet & skateboard. Special Events And TripsTEEN CORE – APRD’S TEEN RECREATION INITIATIVE!The “Teen Core” program initiative is an opportunity for teensages 12-15 to continue participating in the sports and activitiesthey love, as well as explore new activities, in an inclusive,recreational setting that stresses skill development, teamworkand lifelong participation. Teen Core has been developed byteens, for teens, to be equal parts athletic, developmental andsocial, with a focus always on the FUN! Unity Dance AcademyFALL YOUTH DANCE AND ACROBATICS PROGRAM 2019-2020September 9, 2019 - March, 2020**Dates are subject to change based on recital date and locationUnity Dance Academy (UDA) is a non-competitive dance program offered by Appleton Parks and Recreation. UDA is a family oriented dance studio where everyone feels welcome. Our goal is simple: to offer superior instruction on a wide variety of dance genres. Class & skill level descriptions along with attire requirements are available at www.appletonparkandrec.org.Registration received after August 14 will require an additional $10 fee. The City of Appleton’s Scheig Center is located within AppletonMemorial Park and surrounded by the beautiful Scheig CenterGardens. This facility, as well as the gardens, are available forrent by the public year around. Rentals are available one year inadvance and fill up quickly, so book your date now!

The Scheig Center features a stunning cathedral ceiling with anatural look and feel through exposed wood beams, andwindows and doors overlooking the gardens. There are twokitchen/serving areas for your convenience. With a capacity ofup to 75 people, this year-round facility is a great location tohost events such as baby showers, bridal showers, graduationparties, anniversary parties, holiday parties and weddings!
