We continue to be amazed that our ticket sales are doing so well.  Thank you all for your support in helping to raise funds for Westside Cares.  We raised $170 at our February luncheon.  The ladies who signed up to bring an opportunity gift for March are Sandra Bischoff, Ann Weida, Jean Yancheck, Glenda Cruse and Carol Côte. FASHION SHOW ALERT:  Our Fashion Show in May is right around the corner.  It's never too early to start thinking of that special item you'd like to bring to help raise funds for Westside Cares.  We ask that the value of the item be at least $25.  Get together with a friend or two if you wish.  Theme baskets are always popular.  Here are some suggestions.  A spa basket, garden basket, cooking basket, wine and cheese basket, family movie night basket.  The list goes on and on.  You can search the Internet for more fun ideas.  Another very popular item is a gift card to a nice restaurant or a unique shop.  Let's make this the best fashion show ever!

NEWSLETTER MARCH 2020

Hi Everyone!

This upcoming month has us all wondering------ will it come in

like a lion or a lamb? With a loud roar or a soft bleat?

I keep thinking that we've already had plenty of snow and cold

temperatures but we sure do need the moisture. It's whatever

Mother Nature tosses out!

For those of us who are of Irish descent this is the time to flaunt

"the wearin' o' the green". To play funny pranks and dream of rainbows and leprechauns and

corned beef and cabbage. To picture the many shades of green that really do made up the Irish

countryside.

I hope many of you are planning to attend our luncheon and program. Deb has a special treat for

all of us with Sandy Halby as our guest speaker.

I look forward to seeing all your friendly faces and great smiles on March 11th. Bring a friend

along to share the experience.

Hugs to All, Pat Gotsill, President

COMMUNITY SERVICE Gayle Girouard Karen MartinWe collected $111 at our February Pikes Peak Neighbors luncheon. With that amount and some leftover money we were able to fulfill requests from the Salvation Army’s R.J. Montgomery House for shampoo (25),toothpaste (30), shaving cream (20) and disposable razors (600 men’s and 50 women’s). Thank you all for your generous contributions and supplies.

HOSPITALITY                        Judy Brisbois               719-648-9481The Radisson Hotel welcomed 49 members with Valentine-themed tables and awonderful buffet luncheon of chicken pot pie, green salad, a vegetable medley and more! This month’s program gave us a unique peek into local history as we witnessed a tea party featuring the three founding ladies of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center—Julie Penrose, Alice Bemis Taylor and Elizabeth Sage Hare. We watched as they planned the mission of the Fine Arts Center, and decided where to put it and what to put in it. The acting was excellent and the story was riveting. Congratulations to Sandy Hanzlian, the lucky winner of the February birthday drawing. Hope to see you next month! Bring a friend!
