The Society has elected to once againpartner with Dr. Neil Love and his continuing medical education group,Research To Practice, in hosting the official satellite symposium at the 10thAnnual Meeting. This unique event wasdesigned and developed to allow Societymembers to help plan and shape theinformation presented and discussedduring the meeting. To this end, throughout February and March of thisyear, more than 100 members elected toparticipate in a voluntary questionnairefocused on their familiarity with andinterest in a number of different educa-tional topics, recent clinical data reportsand ongoing research studies. As part ofthis assessment, members were alsoasked to provide challenging cases and questions for which they would like further input and clarification.
The ratings, perspectives and casesobtained via the surveys were analyzedand then used to prioritize the topicsand select the content included in themeeting agenda.
At the event, five breast cancer clinicalinvestigators with an expertise in the systemic and/or surgical management ofthe disease will review many of the publications, presentations and trialsidentified as important and/or relevantby members completing the pre-meetingquestionnaire. After each faculty lecture, cases and questions provided during thesurvey and audience keypad polling willbe utilized to enhance the discussionand help create a beneficial, practicaland relevant event focused on specificallyaddressing the educational needs ofSociety members.
This interactive session will focus onactual coding issues encountered bymembers. Recent updates, as well asfuture efforts, in coding and reimburse-ment, specifically for sentinel lymph nodecodes and oncoplastic procedures, will bediscussed. The session will also featurethe always popular “How do I code this?”segment.
This symposium is sponsored by Research To Practice and is supported by educational grants from Genentech BioOncology, Genomic Health, Inc., and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. This event is free to all registered attendees; however, pre-registration is required. (This program is not part of the Society’s official CME submitted programming.)
