Transformation is what separates the performer from the passive bystander.

In the annals of local development, transparent management, planning and

effective implementation are the factors that determine success or failure of governance.

The Municipality of Laguindingan from its lowly beginning through the years since its

creation continued to deliver and adhere to the purpose for which it was created, “to

make functional and develop the local government for the growth and development of

the countryside”. Presently, the local government embarks on new concepts to prepare

and respond appropriately for the influx of development opportunities. The pushing

factor of this momentum is the vision and mission fired by the sustained integration and

participation of the different local stakeholders. It is on this premise that the Municipality

of Laguindingan is celebrating the 48th Foundation Day in order to present to the people

that Laguindingan is prepared in the nitty-gritty of development challenges.

The theme of this year’s celebration is “Kinaiyahan Ampingan, Tulay sa

Kalambuan... Padayon Laguindingan”. The theme presents in a nut shell what the

municipality is doing and going. The leap frog development experienced by the

municipality necessitates for the continued implementation of responsive programs in

order to make Laguindingan attain its vision and mission manifested by the

improvement of the peoples’ lives economically, socially and financially.

On the occasion of this 48th Foundation Day Anniversary, it is with great honor

and privilege that I extend my warmest congratulations to all the people that make

Laguindingan what she is now.
