KELABIT COMMUNITY MUSEUM BRANDING

The Kelabit community is located in the beautiful region of Bario, which is surrounded by a tropical rain forest. The picturesque mountainous landscape is also home to exotic wild life. The Kelabit people are a self-sufficient community, growing their own food for themselves as well as to earn a living. The Bario region is known for its world famous rice.The logo for the community museum draws on facets of this picturesque place, showcasing the mountainous landscape, as well as the world famous rice in the form of abstract triangles that represent these aspects.These elements are depicted in the form of abstract triangles which represent the mountains and the rice fields.

KELABIT PLACE BRANDING BRANDING

I designed the logo for the Kelabit Highlands to focus on this beautiful state. Drawing on aspects of the place and culture, I captured the spirit of the people in the image of a bird they adore — the Hornbill. The bird has cultural ties to the Kelabit community and gains a place of significance as a symbol on various structures.Through the design of this elegant bird, I captured the essence of this beautiful close-knit indigenous community.

PETER BROCK FOUNDATION DESIGN

The Peter Brock Foundation the client required a new logo and a website redesign.The client wanted the website to highlight the memory of Peter Brock and what he stood for. The aim of the design was to create a clean, user friendly interface with a colour scheme that suited a sombre tone. I noticed that the previous design had elements like registration and donation in hard to find places on the website, thus causing the Foundation to lose supporters and donations. To address this situation, I incorporated ‘Join us’ and ‘Donate’ into the top navigation bar, to ensure users could locate these elements easily.

FASHION SHOOT

The theme of the fashion photography shoot was stylish and sleek, I chose outfits and a model that looked the part with the chosen outfits. The theme of the fashion photography shoot was stylish and sleek, I chose outfits and a

model that looked the part with the chosen outfits. I opted for sleek lines and minimal makeup and kept this a consistent thread

running through my series.

LIGHTS OF THE URBAN LANDSCAPE

I chose to capture light with my focus on the city of Melbourne. I wanted to get a sense of the colour of the general populace in the city, as well as the visual environment that surrounds people as they get to and fro from work. I walked around taking it all in, until I could gauge a basic understanding of the colour schemes. What I found, was that the vast majority of colours were mundane, monotonous hues that somewhat becomes a standard, as the winter chill set in.I decided to build on these ideas and returned, but instead of capturing the city in the day, I was fascinated by the play of light as night sets in and was persuaded to capture its amazing aesthetic by night.Inspired by the idea of visual perception and how the human eye sees differently from the camera. I used the camera to create, rather than simply document. My work uses the camera as a tool by using focus, aperture and shutter speed to create abstractions. These abstractions create an unseen perception and rhythm of the city to give the photographs a dreamlike quality.My work was exhibited as part of the Lights in Winter Festival at Federation Square in Melbourne in 2014.

SKY PILOT PHOTOGRAPHY

I captured a series of aerial photographs from the Eureka Towers showcasing the sights of Melbourne. My photographs capture the beautiful architecture, significant landmarks, as well as everyday scenes like the buildings, freeways and rail lines. I shot my pictures from the observation deck (Eureka Skydeck 88) which occupies the entire 88th floor of the Eureka Tower and is the highest public vantage point in the building.
