AnschlieBend ginger nach Berlin-Dahlem and arbeitete am Bakteriolo-gischen Labor der Biologischen Reichsanstalt fur Land-und Forstwirtschaft. 1931 begann er als Assistent beiProf. JAHN am Institut fur Forstbotanik in Hann . Mun-den and habilitierte sich im Jahre 1937 . H. ZYCHA er-hielt 1940 einen Lehrauftrag fur Forstpathologie andForstschutz gegen Pilze an der Forstlichen Fakultat derUniversitat Gottingen in Hann . Munden. 1949 wurdeer Professor and zum Direktor der Biologischen Bun-desanstalt am Institut fur Angewandte Mykologie andHolzschutz berufen . Diese Bundesanstalt wurde spaterInstitut fur Forstpflanzenkrankheiten benannt, wo erweiterhin blieb .

In seinen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten berichtet Prof .ZYCHA fiber Mykologie, Holzschutz and Forstkrank-heiten. Der Inhalt jeder Arbeit ist vorbildlich aufge-baut and klar verstandlich. Neben wissenschaftlichenArbeiten wurden der Praxis viele Anregungen ge-geben. Sein Buch fiber die Mucorineen wurde im Jahr1935 herausgebracht and erschien wieder im Nach-druck. Im Handbuch der Pflanzenkrankheiten bearbei-tete H. ZYCHA im III. Band die holzzerstorenden Pilze.

Prof . ZYCHA ist im In- and Ausland geschatzt andwer ihn personlich kennen lernte, schatzt sein beschei-denes and hilfsbereites Wesen .

Zu seinem Festtage sei es gestattet, die herzlichstenWiinsche fur weitere erfolgreiche Forscherarbeit andfur sein personliches Wohlergehen zu ubermitteln.
