Sales Management CommentsThe annual Fleckvieh Equation Sale is still the true pioneer of Fullblood Simmental sales. In it’s DNA, or origins, are the founding sales of Fleckvieh Fest, Fleckvieh Focus and Fleck Select, who all over time merged to pull in a common direction to promote and market the strain of Simmental. We now see more growth and maturity in the fact that the sale is designed to accommodate marketing for Fullblood Simmental on a whole.

I think we may have one of the strongest groups of bred heifers we have seen in awhile, or ever! The heifer calves are always an exciting display of the most current genetics available to the Fullblood Simmental business.

There is a LOT of Simmental activity going on in the days leading up to the Fleckvieh Equation, so make some travel plans to spend a few days in Central Alberta to witness the greatest display of Simmental cattle in Canada that happens throughout the year. We understand if you can’t be at every sale that happens in this series, but we hope you choose the “Equation”. Our selections this year continue to showcase our breeding philosophy - you will find strong maternal lines across the group, with deep extended pedigrees to ensure quality and consistency. The heifers have been double vaccinated and will receive scour-guard before sale day.

The sale date this year falls very close to the heifer's AI dates. As a result, for any interest from out of province, we are willing to bring the heifers home after the sale and calve them out. While ‘stuff’ can still happen at our place, we would much prefer it happen here instead of on a truck.
