STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

Shampoo hair thoroughly with Brazilian Blowout Açai Anti-Residue Shampoo• Shampoo a minimum of 2 times – until squeaky clean

- The number of shampoos depends on the hair’s texture and product build up

Towel dry hair to remove excess moisture• Moisture is needed to help spread solution without over-saturating• Use a spray bottle if hair dries during the service to re-wet hair• Hair should be damp, not dripping wet

Divide hair into 4 even sections• Start from the base of the head and work your way to the top

LESS IS MORE• Always shake the bottle of Brazilian Blowout Professional Smoothing Solution before dispensing product• Measure solution and pour into color bowl

Short hair: ¼ oz. to ½ oz. Medium hair: ½ oz. to ¾ oz. Long hair: ¾ oz. to 1 oz.

• Start with a ¼ to ½ inch section from one of the back quadrants (section size will vary depending on hair density)• Using the applicator brush, lightly dust solution on the section and comb it through hair, working from root to ends

- Apply solution directly to the root – NOT the scalpNOTE: DO NOT SATURATE THE HAIR. If too much product is applied, pull down the next section of hair and comb through. Repeat until solution residue is no longer visible.• IMPORTANT: Stylist should wear gloves and both stylist and client should wear protective eyewear until product is rinsed from the hair

Blow dry hair as sleek and smooth as possible and 100% dry• Use Brazilian Blowout Round Boar Bristle Brush (or similar boar bristle brush)• Medium heat• Use as much tension as possible• DO NOT use metal or ceramic brush• Blow dry at least 2 inches away from the hair, DO NOT blow dry directly into the brush

This seals the product onto the hair• Flat iron in ½ to 1 ½ inch sections on average• Use a minimum temp of: 380° & a maximum temp of: 450° based on the integrity of the hair and desired results• Flat iron hair from roots to ends using the same tension and pressure all the way down the hair shaft, easing up through the ends• Flat iron each section at least 4 to 5 times to seal in treatment• For a straighter appearance, flat iron each section at least 7 times• To maintain or create volume, over direct your flat iron

Completely rinse solution from hair - DO NOT leave solution in hair• Use warm water, rinsing for 1-2 minutes• Do NOT shampoo

• Apply Brazilian Blowout Açai Deep Conditioning Masque• Leave in for about a minute, then rinse thoroughly

10 FINISHING• We recommend using a small amount of Brazilian Blowout Açai Daily Smoothing Serum or Brazilian Blowout Açai Thermal Protective Straightening Balm starting at the ends and working up, then blow dry and style as desired• Client can now resume daily activity including: exercising, swimming, putting hair in a ponytail or clip etc.

Q: Do I need to do a client consultation? A. YES, always perform an in-depth consultation with your client to go over their expectations of the service so that you may customize the treatment according to the desired result. Use the Brazilian Blowout Client Consultation cards to log service and accompanying notes.

Q: Can I leave the solution in the hair once the flat iron step is finished? A. No. The treatment is not complete until the solution has been rinsed from the hair and the masque is applied. You must always complete this step in order to properly perform the treatment.

Q: Can you color the hair the same day you are performing a Brazilian Blowout Treatment?A. Yes, color must be performed prior to a Brazilian Blowout Treatment. A Brazilian Blowout will actually improve the health of color-treated/highlighted hair by conditioning the hair while sealing the cuticle to lock in color, reduce frizz and add radiant shine. If a client decides to get color after the service, we recommend a 14 day waiting period.

Q: Will the Açai Anti-Residue Shampoo strip color or other treatments from the hair? A. No, Brazilian Blowout Açai Anti-Residue Shampoo is formulated with a pH level between 8 and 9 to maintain hair color. If coloring the same day, follow the color manufacturer instructions for the color service, including shampoo and conditioning, then shampoo with Brazilian Blowout Açai Anti-Residue Shampoo a minimum of 2 times prior to the treatment, based on the texture and cleanliness of the hair.

Q. Are there any special instructions for African-American hair? A. Follow the same application steps, but when blow-drying African American hair, use the smallest comb attachment and dry the hair using as much tension as possible. When flat ironing, use a pressing comb at the root taking ½ to 1 ½ inch sections, passing over each section 4 to 5 times or 7+ times for a straighter appearance. Style as you normally would after rinsing.

Q. Will Brazilian Blowout make my clients’ hair straight? A. Brazilian Blowout is a customizable smoothing treatment. You will determine how smooth, sleek, wavy or curly your client wants their hair during the consultation. Less tension and elevation when flat ironing will help maintain volume in the hair. Using zero elevation and more passes with the flat iron will result in a sleeker, straighter appearance.

Q. Can you apply the Brazilian Blowout directly on top of other relaxers and straighteners?A. Yes. The Brazilian Blowout Treatment actually works best on chemically treated hair, helping to improve the hair’s condition by fortifying each strand with essential amino acids.Perform the relaxer first, Brazilian Blowout service next, and then neutralize at the very end of both treatments.

The Brazilian Blowout Treatment is recommended for someone trying to move away from relaxers or Japanese straighteners, allowing movement back into the hair.
