1. Introduction
The new integration seamlessly connects the TORAIZ SP-16 to the world’s largest collection of high
quality samples and loops. You can pick your favorite individual samples from the Splice Sounds
catalog of over 1 million sounds from world-class providers, build and save custom sample kits,
and program 32-step sequences on the web and on mobile devices using Beatmaker, Splice’s
online sequencer. And now, you can easily export your custom sample kits and sequences to the
TORAIZ SP-16 with the click of a button. There’s no need to import samples one by one. Simply
download your creations as SCENE files to your laptop or a USB drive, connect the TORAIZ SP-16
via USB and transfer the SCENE files across. Then you can use the hardware’s features and FX to
manipulate your sounds further.
2. Check Your Firmware Version
1. Turn on the unit.
2. Tap UTILITY in the HOME screen. The UTILITY screen appears.
3. Turn the rotary selector to scroll down to the second row from the bottom. There, you will be able
to see the firmware currently running on your unit.
※ Make sure the unit is higher than ver.1.30. If you are using an older version, please update the latest
firmware from here.
4. Tap UTILITY again to exit the UTILITY screen.

the SP-16.
Download the beats as TORAIZ SP-16
SCENE files (the SCENE includes
sample kit and sequence pattern.
Also you can download each sample
individually.
Browse over 1 million samples and presets, including original packs from renowned artists.
Then, make and share beats in your browser using Beatmaker.
You can import the SCENE files to a SCENE of current project and play the exact
same beat as you made on the Beatmaker.
Then you can use the hardware’s features and FX to manipulate your sounds
further.

6. Subscription for Splice Sounds
Click “SOUNDS”.
Click ”START FREE TRIAL”. Or head to https://splice.com/sounds/settings.

Click “Enter promo code”.
Select a subscription plan, fill payment information and enter the Promo code, then click “START
SOUNDS”.

This promo code will allow one month free access to Splice Sounds including 100
download credits. At the end of the free period the subscription will become active and
monthly payments taken from the credit card used to sign up. For details about
registration, cancellation, payment, etc., please check the Splice website.

7. Beatmaker
Click “Beatmaker” in the menu on the left. Or head to https://splice.com/sounds/beatmaker.

When downloading, you will use as many credits as paid samples used in the Beatmaker.
You do not use credits when downloading purchased or free samples.

8. Stored area for downloaded SCENE files
Copy SCENE (.scn) files to the \TORAIZ\Scenes folder in the SP-16 or a USB flash device.
If you could not find “Scenes” folder please create a new folder and name it “Scenes”.
・ Scenes folder is generated automatically when you have used scene export function with
SCENE MANAGER added in Firmware Version1.30.

9. Import of SCENE files
You can import SCENE (.scn) files in the Scenes folder in the SP-16 or a USB flash device. Tap the
scene you wish to import in the SCENE MANAGER screen. When you tap the [FILE] button, a
popup window appears. Turn the rotary selector to select [IMPORT] and press it to show a list of
scene files. Turn the rotary selector to select a scene you wish to import and press it to start
import.
