1. INTRODUCTION
In line with the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (Revised 2015), onlyregistered Professional Engineers with a Practising Certificate can submitengineering plans to Local Authorities. In order to apply for a PractisingCertificate, Professional Engineers must sit and pass the ProfessionalCompetencyExamination(PCE)intheirrelevantbranchofpractice.Presently, the PCE for the following branches of practice for the constructionindustryareinplace:
Civilengineering Mechanicalengineering Electricalengineering Chemicalengineering
Candidateswhowanttositforotherbranchesofpracticeneedtowritetothe Board of EngineersMalaysia (BEM) to prepare PCE for these otherbranchesofpractice.
