o Prof. Ravishankar Rai V has received his M.Sc (1980) and Ph.D (1989) from University of Mysore,

India.

o Currently Dr. Rai is working as Professor at the Department of Studies in Microbiology, University of

Mysore, Mysore

o Working as faculty member at University of Mysore since 5th September 1992 and as Professor from

23rd March 2007.

o He is founding Chairman of the Department of Studies in Microbiology, University of Mysore and

worked as Chairman of Department of Studies in Microbiology, University of Mysore from 2008-2011

and January 2015- Feb 2017.

o Served as Chairman, Board of Studies in Microbiology, University of Mysore from 2007-2010, 2015-

2017 and 2017 to till date and Board of Studies in Clinical Research & Clinical Data Management

2015- till date.

o Presently working as Convener of Scientific committee for Institute of Excellence and Nodal officer

o He has successfully guided 22 Ph. D students. Presently eight candidates have registered for Ph.D

and 18 students have obtained their M. Phil degree in Seed Pathology under his supervision.

He has been awarded fellowship of UNECSO Biotechnology Action Council, Paris (1996) to visit

edited four books for CRC Press, USA. In 2017 & 2018, he edited books on ‘Nanotechnology
