Herd improvement is what we are all about here at CRV and our 2014 Product and Services catalogue is about providing you with the tools to do just that. We understand that every day your cows go through the milking shed is a reflection on how well we have played our part in powering your farm results.

A cornerstone of great cows is built around the CRV Ambreed philosophy - one size doesn’t fit all. A range of product and services are needed to build a great herd - and that is where CRV Ambreed plays its part - building the herd that fits your farming system.

We start by understanding and knowing your farming style, as well as your goals. Then we help you select the genetics to provide the best framework for current and future performance. Drawing on the depth of expertise within CRV, we utilise tools such as SireMatch: CRV’s mating programme and back this up with a world-class AI Technician service to get your cows in calf. Couple this with our new PortaBULL AI app, and life couldn’t be made easier.

CRV Ambreed’s leading services extend further. We offer Herd Testing and InSight, our web-based and mobile herd management programme, which is able to be accessed from anywhere in the world. It’s just the right set of herd

recording tools you need to monitor and manage your herd progress - be it each day or over time.

We trust that when going through our 2014 Product and Services catalogue you will see just how good CRV’s ideas on herd improvement are and that they will give you the power to deliver the farm results you desire.

Better cows, Better life - that’s the power behind CRV Ambreed.

    WHY IS HERD IMPROVEMENT IMPORTANT?

Whether you are a farm owner, or a sharemilker investing in your first herd, the cows you work with each day are the key to reaching your farm goals and profit targets each season. Most of the investments you make each year are to improve the performance of your herd, placing the herd firmly at the centre of your farm performance and profitability.

There are many factors that impact how your herd performs day to day and season to season. All factors - from how the paddocks are managed, who is working with the animals detecting heats, to your genetic selection for the future generations - has an important role to play in your herd. It is through these many factors that you can improve the herd you work with and increase your farm performance year over year.

CRV Ambreed understands this, putting you and your herd goals at the center of what we do every day. We focus on our areas of expertise around genetics, mating, fertility, health and herd information management to provide you the tools to improve your herd.

We want to see you succeed with your herd every year. That is why we strive to be your partner in herd improvement. At the end of the day - it’s all in the herd- and CRV Ambreed will be there to offer you top expertise and service in the business to improve that herd.

Many factors have to be taken into account day to day for your farm – but the herd is the centre and key to your farm performance.

Smaller Milk and Supply Herds (SMASH)In 2009 two neighbouring Waikato dairy farmers, Fran Allcock and Joyce Brown, decided to organise a series of conferences for smaller herd farmers. They had noted that the needs of smaller herd farmers are different from large herd farmers and that there was an opportunity to develop events specifically for them. They decided to start by gathering an enthusiastic group of volunteer farmers to help organise the events, and then enlisted the support of DairyNZ: www.dairynz.co.nz. The formation of the SMASH Trust and a series of highly successful conferences were the result.

The feedback from those first conferences was overwhelmingly positive and since then the team has gone on to run regular events including:• On farm field days• Workshops• Annual regional conferences

Below are some of the organisations we are proud to support as we strongly believe in their goals and what they contribute to the Dairy Industry.
