GKD PRODUCTS GKD Industries Ltd. is a Canadian manufacturer specializing in well stimulation, wireline and flow control equipment for the oil and gas industry. Customers choose GKD products because of our:

GKD Industries Ltd. is registered with PriceWaterhouseCoopers as having a Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 in relation to: “Products and machining services focused on well stimulation, wireline and flow control equipment for the oil and gas industry”.

In addition to formal registration under ISO, GKD Industries provides equipment users

and well owners comfort that GKD products are designed and manufactured according to stringent industry standards by supplying Certification Packages where appropriate. The Certification Package provides complete traceability of the GKD product from material certification through to the final pressure test, where required, and is referenced to the product by a unique identification number stamped on each part of the assembly.

Documents included in the Certification Package are:

• Assembly drawing

• Copy of ISO Certification

• Certificate of Compliance - which lists all applicable codes and standards

• Material Certificates - for all critical components

• Hydrostatic Test Certificate (where applicable) - which includes test recorder chart

The GKD Industries Quality Assurance Department retains on file for a minimum of seven (7) years the documents contained in the Certification Package together with evidence of 100% dimensional inspection and any third party inspection reports required.

GKD BLOWOUT PREVENTERS, LUBRICATOR RISERS, AND STUFFING BOXES

The components illustrated on this page areutilized in above surface wireline operationsand are available in standard and H2Sservice specification. For safety reasons,welding of GKD products is prohibited. GKD MEASURING LINE STUFFINGBOXES are designed for safe heavy-dutyoperations, with the ability to pack-off solidwireline sizes ranging from 0.062" through0.125". Large 16" diameter sheaves handleheavy lines with less fatigue and breakage. GKD LUBRICATOR RISERS are availablein a variety of standard sizes ranging from 3"through 5" and lengths of 4' through 12'. Thelubricator is used to run the tools once the BOPhas been closed to shut-in the well. Thepressure is released through the bleed-off porton the lubricator. Then the lubricator is brokenat the quick unions. The tool to be run isconnected to the wireline and pulled inside thelubricator. The lubricator is then re-assembled,at the quick unions, the BOP is reopened toallow well pressure, and the tool is run into thewell without pulling the tubing, disturbing thepacking or killing the well. GKD QUICK UNIONS are available in avariety of thread connection sizes and a widerange of pressure ratings. Quick unions are anintegral part of the lubricator. GKD BLOWOUT PREVENTERS, bothhydraulic and manual are available in a fullrange of sizes and working pressure ratings,from 3" through 5" bore size, and 5,000 PSIthrough 10,000 PSI working pressures. TheBOP is coupled to the top of the wellheadconnections or Christmas Tree and allows workto be performed on surface equipment while thewireline is in the well.

GKD CROSSOVER ADAPTERS aredesigned to provide a transition betweenotherwise incompatible unions. These components will always be rated not toexceed the lower rated union, both in termsof service and pressure. CUSTOM MACHININGGKD Industries Ltd. provides custom machining services for the oil and gas industry’s leading service companies. We pride ourselves on our ability to manufacture the most intricate pieces to tight tolerances, and our ability to strictly honour the confidential nature of our customers’ products and designs.

One of our strengths is our physical assets: our facility and our equipment. We operate out of modern 21,000 square foot facility located in the Foothills Industrial Park in Calgary, Alberta. We have manual and CNC lathes with swings of up to 32” over bed and bores of up to 9”. Our manual mills and CNC machining centres have complete 4th axis capability. We also have ejector-drilling capability of up to 36” depth and 2 1/2” I.D. together with gun-drilling capability of up to 30” depth and 1 1/16” I.D. A sophisticated Computer Aided Design and Machining (CAD/CAM) System centrally controls our CNC equipment. This modern machining capability is maintained at peak efficiency by a rigorous maintenance schedule and regular capital expenditures.

Our greatest strength, however, is our well-trained and dedicated work force. We strive to train our machinists in-house and actively support the Alberta Apprenticeship Program. At any given time we have a number of apprentices in training to meet our growing need for well-trained machinists. All machinists, including Journeymen, receive constant training and have their tooling

regularly calibrated as part of our ISO Quality System.

While we have excellent all-round machining capability, our expertise is machining downhole and surface equipment for the oil and gas industry in accordance with API standards. We are very familiar with the materials required for the oil and gas industry’s high pressure and difficult service environments, including significant experience machining exotic nickel-base alloys. Because we understand the oil and gas industry, we also understand that the unexpected can happen and a part or tool is required “ASAP” to minimize the economic consequences of a downed rig or a delayed job. Our production team has the training and experience to deal with these situations in a timely manner.

GKD provides custom machining within an ISO 9001:2000 registered Quality Management System. Quality is maintained and verified throughout the manufacturing process, beginning with order acceptance, through in-process and final inspections, and ending with the shipment of a quality product. Our Quality Assurance personnel utilize top quality inspection equipment (including hydrostatic pressure testing equipment), maintained and calibrated in accordance with rigorous standards. We are experienced with the thorough documentation required by today’s oil and gas industry and maintain complete traceability and inspection documentation on file for a minimum of seven years.
