In the technical field, ever since the end of the World War II, Premogovnik Velenje has paid great attention to modernisation and to the introduction of the latest technology in coal min-ing, in order to facilitate physical effort of the miners and pro-vide maximum safety at work. An important milestone in this field was achieved in 1987 when traditional mining was finally replaced by mechanical. Our own knowledge significantly con-tributed to that, along with the systematic search for the most appropriate and the safest method for mining of thick layers of coal. The introduction of the longwall mining method started in 1952. Nowadays, it is known in the professional literature as the Velenje mining method and it made the name of Pre-mogovnik Velenje known to the world. Premogovnik Velenje is

known to be one of the most modern underground coal mines in the world.

On the basis of tradition, experience and knowledge of many generations, the Technical Services at Premogovnik Velenje continue their mission, planning and further development of mining in terms of continuous increase in economic efficiency of production, safety and humanity of work, and reduction of environmental impacts.

A hydraulic switching device serves as a drive. It is driven by the pump from the feeder in the event of a single drive. In the event of a double drive for the gradients of up to ±12°, the second drive – the switching device – is controlled from the common control valve, whereas the switching device has its own genera-tor – drive.

WORKSITES, ALLOWING EASIER AND SAFER TRANSPORTATIONIN COAL MINES WITH DIFFICULT WORK CONDITIONS,

PRESENCE OF METHANE AND DANGEROUS COAL DUST,It is installed within the existing chain conveyor DVT 470. The purpose of the

coal crusher PV – HTZ is to crush large pieces of coal produced when making the underground workings. The coal is crushed into smaller pieces of approx. 160–200

mm and into larger pieces, which allows easier transportation. The crusher is of compact version and of optimal dimension, adapted to the operation on 430 mm to 730 mm wide

conveyors, an electric motor is integrated into the roller crusher, which is achieved by installing the electric motor into the grinding roller. The crusher is ideal for the use at preparatory worksites.

MINING DRILLING MACHINE PV – HTZ IS ADAPTED FOR DRILLING WITH SPIRAL DRILLING ROD. IT IS DESIGNED FOR UNDERGROUND

DRILLING IN COAL MINES WITH DIFFICULT WORK CONDITIONS,PRESENCE OF METHANE AND DANGEROUS COAL DUST.

The machine consists of three compact functional units (drilling machine, hydraulic power unit and control panel). This facilitates setup in small

and narrow pits. With the support and clamping devices the electric hydraulic drilling machine can be securely clamped into underground

workings of different sizes.

• With the new tension box and the new tension winch, the length of the tension box will be reduced by 35 metres, which means that it can be quickly included in the removal process at the preparatory worksites, particularly when using the mobile chain conveyor MCS 27 or a conveyor of similar structure which allows continuous progress in making roadways. The structure of the tension winch has been developed in the subsidiary of Premogovnik Velenje, HTZ Velenje, and is based on the joint de-velopment of the tension box. • Tension winch within the tension box is a new structure with an improved performance system which enables control over the tension force of the rubber – appropriate senzorics. Braking system is similar to the one used for braking of conveyors (discs and brake pads of retaining device) – typification of equipment.
