Modelling

• The base is nurbs but most of the rest is polygons• I made 3 fingers first but changed to 2 with no joints for ease of animating • I changed the hand to accommodate these fingers and improved the fingers a few

times• I changed the arm shapes and tapered the ends. • I added fans for cooling and to look like pretty flowers to go with the idea of it

being a housewife’s helper

Pipeline texturing fans•In texturing the flower fans I first used a ramp with lots of stripes of colours for the veins of the flowers. Then I redid it by UV mapping them and projecting images that I had Photoshopped. This gave a better result.•I stretched the flowers in Photoshop and repeated them with green as well. •In UV mapping I put the backs of 2 fans at a time on the green and the fronts on the flower with fan covers on the centre of the flower•I decided the fans looked better with the front and back the same so I redid them•I may redo the flowers and map the petals to real petals but I like the effects that I have.

Pipeline texturing base and hand•I used interactive placement to place small pictures of flowers, done in Photoshop, in each file•Then on the base and hand I did a layered texture of these files to scatter small flowers around. I used the same technique to add windows to the walls.•I think this was successful

Pipeline texturing floor•The floor is marble tiles which are from a checker with 2 marble 3D textures plugged into the colours, one grey filler with white veins and the other black filler with grey veins•I put a checker into a bump for depth in the floor tiles•Both are UV repeated 4 times both ways•I like the effect but it is not good at a distance

Turned it upside down & added lights•Including big rectangle volume lights for the windows with a greenish tinge as if light was coming through glass bricks•There is a problem with a shadow on the window, it may not look real

Rigging

•Everything was grouped in correct hierarchy and each group was assigned selection handles and referenced then animation began•I forgot to make a selection handle for the turning fans which I should have done when I did the whole arm. I was animating them by selecting them individually until I redid it.
