GEORGE HENRY TAUBMAN (1862-1938)In the late 1890s, George Henry Taubman, a Sydney sign writer, became increasingly tired of the range of paint available in Australia. However, instead of finding another profession, in 1897 he established himself as a paint importer and supplier.

Two years later he was still unsatisfied with the product available so he began manufacturing his own paint, and its popularity proved that he knew what he was doing. Between 1900 and 1912 the company grew from £600 to be worth £6,000 and by 1928, Taubmans had branches across Australia and New Zealand.

By 1930 Taubmans was a public, wholly owned Australian company and in that year became associated with Pinchin Johnson, one of the largest paint producers of the USA. This relationship helped maintain the company’s technical competitiveness and fuelled a steady expansion.

Taubmans was chaired by the founder’s son, Henry G. Taubman right up until 1952 and in August 2007 PPG Industries acquired the brand.

Taubmans Endure is engineered with Nanoguard®, which provides maximum protection for your walls. It has an interlocking molecular structure that creates a protective shield so everyday dirt and stains can be wiped away without compromising the quality of the paint. It provides excellent mould and mildew protection so you have a cleaner and healthier home environment. It is one of the most advanced paint technologies available today.

Microban® technology provides antibacterial protection against bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Golden Staph and the growth ofmould, mildew and fungus. It is incorporated into the paint at the manufacturing stage and lasts the life of the paint, making it ideal for use on painted surfaces such as walls and ceilings in bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms, as well as damp areas of the home.

Taubmans Pure Performance Interior and Easycoat ranges have been approved by the National Asthma Council Australia’s Sensitive Choice® Program, supporting asthma and allergy care.

Taubmans Superior Dirt Shedding Formulation enables surfaces to remain cleaner for longer and for any ingrained dirt to be easily washed from the surface. It keeps surfaces looking newer for longer.

Teflon® surface protector is advanced paint additive technology that enhances paint performance to provide outstanding resistance to oily stains and a broad array of other difficult to remove stains.
