We also ship abroad mainly to the European Union though we have sent stairs from as far as Iceland in the north to Zambia in the south. The modern day spiral was ingeniously designed by an Italian engineer to comfortably fit in a small pallet thus enabling it to be transported safely and efficiently. Costs were further reduced and production times decreased by standardising many of the parts. Many of our most popular stairs are now available in as little as two to three weeks however some larger stairs may take up to twelve weeks.

Guide to internal Spiral Stairs Small Spirals These stairs are ideal where space is at a premium. Please note that even with riser bars fitted some of these small stairs do not meet 100cm gap rule as standard but may require additional parts. Please check for confirmation.

Openings and Landings Please note that the recommended opening is 5 to 10 centimetres bigger than the staircase, this is to allow room for your hand to rest on the handrail and comfortably travel through the opening whilst not rapping your knuckles.

The standard landing is ‘V’ shaped, when using an alternative landing please note that this may alter the position of the starting step below. The Kit stair is only available with the ‘V’ shape landing. Please note that Trapezoidal and Square landings require support on 2 sides.

Medium Spirals These stairs are useful for accessing a mezzanine or one bedroom with bathroom. Please check with your local building inspector as a 140cm will require relaxation of the rules.

Method of Assembly

A plate is fixed to the floor then a column is attached to the plate. All the other parts including the treads are slid over the column and then topped off with the landing which is attached to the upper floor.

Large Spirals From 180cm up, these stairs are suitable for use as a main staircase.

Cast Iron Staircases

Model N1200 CI

A small access stair for serving areas such as lofts, balconies, gardens and roof terraces the Model N1200 CI measures 1220mm in diameter with a 481mm clear tread width. A relaxation of Building Control regulations will be required to use this particular stair.

Model A1500 CI

Measuring 1530mm in diameter with a 636mm clear tread width, the Model A1500 CI provides a more comfortable stair for use to access a single room in a domestic application.

Model B1800 CI

At 1858mm in diameter, with an 800mm clear tread width, the Model B1800 CI provides a more generous width of stair being suitable for use in a house serving more than one bedroom.

Model C2100 CI

The largest cast iron stair designed by Albion Design, the Model C2100 CI with an 800mm clear tread width between the inner and outer handrails, is a semi public stair for use by up to 50 people and can also be used as a larger fire escape.

All stairs are available rising clockwise or anti-clockwise and are suitable for multi-storey applications.

Our traditional cast iron staircases are available as a spiral or straight stair arrangement and perfectly match Victorian handmade designs.

Available in four sizes in diameter, the cast iron spiral staircases are suitable for internal and external access stairs and fire escape use. Straight cast iron stairs can be designed to exact customer requirements.

Guide to Internal Flight Stairs Traditional Flights require the support of an adjacent wall. Modular flights have a centre supporting spine.
