Choosing metal sided drawers changes the process

a little bit, but just follow these easy steps to select the

products you need for your drawers:

• Firstly, purchase a standard base cabinet; not a drawer

base cabinet (as you won’t be needing those timber

drawers) in the sizes of 450, 600 and/or 900mm widths.

• Then use our handy table below to work out which

drawer configuration you would like, and how many

of each you will need.

• Finish up by purchasing the drawer panel pack that

matches your configuration (also in the table), and

that’s it – just select your handles and you’re ready

to start assembling.

benchtops how to measure your benchtop space

To get started, work out your benchtop requirements and you’re ready to start creating

your new kitchen.

Check your cabinets are level and square by placing a

spirit level on top of your base cabinets. If not, cabinets

should be adjusted before proceeding.

Measure the length of your kitchen remembering to

include all filler and end panels. It is best to start from a

wall and measure outwards. Add 20mm for the overhang

or 30mm where safety corners are used.

1. Enter the measurements of your benchtop in one

of the pre-set layouts in the order form or simply

draw up your kitchen in the personal design area.

3. Mark your corner joins. A corner join between a

600mm and 900mm should always run the depth

of the 600mm benchtop. Avoid having a corner

join over or close to any sink or appliance cut out.

The custom service is designed for those occasions where a standard benchtop won’t work in your kitchen and come in thicknesses of 32mm and 20mm. The 32mm benchtops can either have a 10mm radius or a square edge using ABS edging, whereas the 20mm benchtops have a square edge and use acrylic edging. The custom service applies to all of our cut to measure benchtop colours, and gives you the ability to produce island benchtops wider than 900mm with a double postformed edge. It also provides you with those unique options like double laminate for waterfall ends.

Our range of cut to measure splashbacks make putting the finishing touches on your kitchen easy. These feature some of our most popular benchtop colours, as well as a range of contemporary solid colours.

They offer a designer look that can also be used behind a gas cooktop as they’re heat resistant (when used with our calcium silicate board). They’re also resistant to scratches and moisture, making them a breeze to maintain.

Our laminate splashbacks are perfect for DIY projects as they are:

• Lightweight and high-impact, making them durable and easy

to handle during installation.

• Easy to install – simply apply silicone to the back

of the splashback, stick the splashback in position and

seal around the edges.

• Available in large sheets of up to 3600mm width (prior to

cutting) - brilliant for having minimal joins in the end result.

• Easy to add cut outs at home (for cutting appliance and

power points). Measuring and cutting on-site will give you

accuracy and control, and can easily be done using a hole

saw, jigsaw or circular saw.

• Price includes any straight cuts to change

the height or width whilst cut outs are priced

• Angled cuts, power point cut outs and cut outs

not starting at the corner of the splashback are

unavailable (this is to protect your splashback

on its way home to you).

• The minimum size for a cut out is

To ensure the safety of your home, particularly behind

a gas cooktop, we recommend the use of calcium silicate

board. The kaboodle calcium silicate board is cement

sheeting that has been designed specifically to provide

a heat resistant barrier to protect any combustible surface

such as wall studs in case of fire.

how is the calcium silicate board installed?

To install the calcium silicate board, cut out a cavity in the plasterboard directly behind the cooktop. The gap between the calcium silicate board and the surrounding substrate can be a maximum of 1-2mm on each side. Fix the calcium silicate board to the studs using appropriate screws.

why use calcium silicate board?

It is recommended to use calcium silicate board to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 5601. This standard states that the surface temperature of any combustible surface can never exceed 65° above ambient temperature.

Our cut to measure splashbacks have been specifically tested to be used in conjunction with our calcium silicate board.

The kaboodle calcium silicate board comes in a convenient size of 200mm x 1220mm, meaning that it is easy to handle, can be fixed to a variety of stud widths and suits a number of different cooktops.

installing splashbacks

cutting your splashback at home is easy as!

tools you will needTo put your kaboodle kitchen together, you will need the following tools.

Tape measure Pencil

Cordless drill with:

• number 2 screw tip

• 4mm drill bit

• number 12 counter sinking drill bit Safety

gear Jigsaw

Spirit level

Rubber spatula

Caulking gun

Adjustable square

StudFinder

Fine tooth saw

Circularsaw

Low adhesive masking tape

Double sided tape

80-120 grit sandpaper

If cutting with a hole saw

If using a hole saw, cut with the good side up.

DO NOT USE A SPADE DRILL BIT.

If cutting with a jigsaw

With the good side facing up, use a 12mm drill bit and drill a hole in each of the corners of the required cut out.

Next, with the good side facing down, use a jigsaw to cut between each of the holes.

Use either of the following methods to make a cut out for any power points. Always make sure you

measure the hole required for the cabling as well as the screws of the power point before cutting.
