Congratulations to CX-Debaters!Ale Williams and Darci Gann are the State Alternate team for CX Debate for our District, and the team of Darcy Wyatt and Vicki Perez placed fourth at District. The team of Williams & Gann went 3-0 in prelims while Wyatt & Perez went 2-1 advancing both teams to the finals. Meridian was the only school to get more than one team into the finals. These ladies and Larry Davis deserve a lot of congratulations consider-ing how far they have come in so short of time period.

Congratulations to Westin Gor-neau and Pablo Flores for being selected to play in the Heart of Texas FCA Victory Bowl. This football all-star game will be played on June 13th at Waco ISD Stadium. They are supposed to try to raise around $1000.00 each to help with cost. If you would like to help by donating some of the money, please come by the High School Office and sign up. STUDENT PHOTO COMPETITIONGrab your cameras and start shooting for the 2015 Bosque Arts Center Photography Guild Student Photo Competition sponsored by Gearench and Promit. Photos must have been taken by student entrant in the last twelve months and may be in color of B/W. There is a limit of 5 entries per student and the photo must be unframed and unmatted with student informa-tion on the back (name, address, phone, school name, and grade). Print size must be 4 x 6 or 5 x 7 (no border).

On April 7th at 9:00 a.m.,. the TSI will be given! If you want to take the test, you need to pay $20 to Ms. Robinson prior to April 7th. The TSI Success Initiative is a program mandated by the state of Texas for all Texas public colleges and universities. It is designed to help determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the general areas of reading, writing and math. This program also will help determine what type of course or intervention will best meet your needs to help you become better prepared for college level course work if you are not ready. If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment — unless you are already exempt

Our Goals in Training At BB Fundamentals, we want to work with players that want to understand the game and increase their basketball IQ.
The game of basketball is 90% mental and 10% physical skills, we would like to assist those players that want to increase their skill levels and have a better chance of playing.
We are not competing with the big basketball camps that have hundreds of players. Our goal is working with JV players that want to make the varsity or varsity players that want to be solid starters.

Meridian Summer 3-on-3 Basketball LeagueEach of the 8 Girl’s Teams to play each girl’s team once and each of the 8 Boy’s Teams will play each boy’s team once, with Girl’s Teams vs Boy’s Teams in final week. Girls will play on Tuesdays and Boys will play Thursdays until the final week. Game competi-tion will start on Tuesday 6/9/15 and complete on 7/30/15.
BB Fundamentals Camp: Prior to the Summer League, there is a BB Fundamentals Camp for basketball fundamentals/skills that would benefit any player wanting to increase their skills that they would use during these summer games. This camp would be on four (4) consecutive Saturdays on April 18, April 25, May 2 and May 9 for five (5) hours each day. This camp cost $90.00 per person for 20 hours of fundamentals training.
Saturday February 28 at 6pm, Records quiz competition for county fair.
Sunday afternoon 3/1 and Monday afternoon 3/2 (if needed), We will be clipping and fitting for the county show.
Wednesday 3/4, Cakes for Cash Bake Sale to be turned in by the exhibitor between 4-5:30 pm in Clifton.
Thursday 3/5 at 1pm, begin check in and weigh in show projects at county show.
Friday 3/6, project shows begin at 8 am and will go on until about 8 pm.
Saturday 3/7, heifer show begins at 8 am, sale plaque photos mid morning, sale at noon for those that qualify.
Houston and Austin livestock shows. Monday 3/9 afternoon, will clip ani-mals for Houston/Austin.

Sweet-hearts help promote, support, and represent the HOT Fair and Rodeo as public relations ambassadors at various com-munity events including festi-vals, fundraisers, benefits, and parades. Additionally they must volunteer a minimum of 100 hours of community ser-vice. Way to go Darci!!

Ale Williams was born on December 14, 1996 in Cle-burne, Texas to Patsy and Charlie Williams. She has one older sister, Stevi Re Williams. She has attended Meridian ISD since kindergarten. She participates in track (discus, shot put), playing the alto saxophone and being the sec-tion leader in the MHS Band of Gold, and Academic UIL (Per-suasive extemp, CX Debate, Poetry, and Social Studies). Her plan after high school is to go to Texas Tech University to become a Crimi-nal Justice Attorney. She cur-rently works at the Brookshire Brother’s deli. Her hobbies are read-ing, writing, and singing. Her favorite book- Fantasies and Fan Fictions; favorite movie-"Benny and Joon;" favorite bands- One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer; and her favorite quote-"To know even one life has breathed easier because you had lived- that is to have succeeded,” RWE.

After she graduates she wants to attend the University of MaryHardin-Baylor and become a band director at a high school.
