procured for a total of USD 15,372
billion, which is representing an
increase of 7.7% compared to 2011.
There are 37 UN organizations,
each of those individually procures
goods and services for its
respective objectives and needs.
This seminar will focus on UN
Procurement in general and in
particular on the four procurement
organizations in Italy: FAO, WFP,
IFAD, and UNLB. Together these
four organizations procured for
approximately USD 2.6 billion in
2012, which equates to 17% of the
total procurement.

The purpose of this seminar is to
give German companies guidance in
the bidding approach. Procurement
staff from each organization will
hold presentations. As a special
service, procurement officers will
be available for one-to-one
meetings during the event.
Additionally, there will be
presentations from German UN
suppliers sharing best practices. A
networking dinner will kick off the
seminar.

WFP (World Food Programme) is the food aid arm of the United Nations system and the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security in regions affected by crises and disasters. Areas of interest: Food and Beverage, Transport & Freight Services, Logistics, Air Charter, Motor Vehicles, Structures and Building Equipment, Office & Building Maintenance, IT Services, Rental & Utilities, HR Services and Consultants, Security Services, Construction Procurement in 2012: $ 2484.0 m, approx. 16% of total procurement
IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development) is a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating rural poverty in developing countries. Areas of interest: Computer supplies, Office supplies and Stationary, Printing equipment, Architectural and Engineering Services, Politics and Civic Affairs Services, Management and Business Professionals, Financial and Insurance Services, Engineering and Research and Technology Based Services, Education Services, Public Utilities Services, Safety Services, Editorial and Design Procurement in 2012: $ 45.6 m
UNLB (The United Nations Logistics Base in Brindisi) is base of the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot und provides also logistic support, telecommunications and training for all peacekeeping operations around the world. The local Procurement Section conducts purchasing actions to support the UN Peacekeeping Missions. Areas of interest: Air Conditioning, Audio Visual Equipment, Telecommunication Equipment, IT solutions and security, Container, Freight, Office supplies, Generators, Machineries, Petrol, Printing Procurement in 2012: No official information has been revealed

PRACTICAL INFORMATION Time and place The seminar will take place from October 8 to October 9, in Rome and on October 10, in Brindisi Please note that all presentations are in English.
Price Participation fee is EUR 330. Included in the price are participation in the seminar, meals and beverages as well as networking dinner. The travel expenses, as well as the accommodation costs in Rome and Brindisi are to be borne by each participant. Accommodation Participants have access to accommodations for a special price at Kolbe Hotel Rome. There will be a shuttle service from the hotel to the airport for the transfer to Brindisi. You will receive further information after your registration.
