First you prep your documents with our special barcode slipsheets. We provide you with one for parent (document break) and child (for attachments).


Next you load your documents into your multi-function device and press the Breeze Summation Connector button.


Your images will be scanned into eCopy, where you can view each page and make any necessary modifications. Once you are satisfied with your images, press the Next button.


This will take you to the index file. This is where you will enter the pertinent info for this case.

The first field is the Output File/Vol. This is were you enter the name of the folder where your scans will be saved.


The next field is the Document Identifier. This is where you name your document(s) you are scanning (eg Bates number).

It will number each page in sequential order. For example the first page would be BATES00001 and the second page would be BATES00002, and so on.


The field after that is Page Counter. This is an additional field to add a “suffix” naming scheme.

It’s blank in the screen shot, but let’s say we entered .001. This would add a suffix to each page. For example if our job had multiple two page documents, the first page of the first document would be BATES00001.001 and the second page would be BATES00001.002, the next two page document would start with BATES00002.001, and so on.


The next field is eStamp Document. Select “YES” to add a custom footer and/or add an electronic bates stamp to the page.


If you answered “YES” in the eStamp Document field, then the eMessage field is where you would add your custom field. Such as Confidential, Atty Eyes Only, etc.


The next field is OCR. Select “YES” to have the connector run OCR on your images.

The OCR is highly accurate and one of our customers favorite features.


After all the fields have been filled out, then select the Send button to move to the next screen.


The next screen is where you will select the appropriate case.

Once you have selected your case, then you will click the OK button.

You’re done and can now go back to your office.


You are now ready to start working with your documents in Summation.

The only thing you need to do is Blaze your Form to load up the OCR.


You’ll notice that the OCR is extremely clean and our technology also replicates the formatting from the image.


The other thing to note is our bates numbering and custom message.

We use a footer instead of an overlay, so you never have to worry about critical information being obscured.
