St. Luke's International Hospital(財団法人聖路加国際病院?)is a general andteachinghospitallocatedintheTsukijidistrictofChūō,Tokyo,Japan.

First opened in 1902, as a medical mission facility by theEpiscopal Church in theUnited States,the hospital is now one of central Tokyo's largest and mostcomprehensivemedicalcarefacilities.

St.Luke’sInternationalHospitalwasfirstaccreditedbytheJointCommissionInternational(JCI)inJuly2012,andafterundergoingare-accreditationsurveyinJuly2015,accreditationhasbeenrenewed.Re-accreditationappliestoall5previouslyaccreditedfacilities,namely,St.Luke’sInternationalHospital,St.Luke’sAffiliatedClinicandCenterforPreventiveMedicine,St.Luke’sBirthClinic,St.Luke’sHomeCareServiceStation,andSt.Luke’sMediLocus.

St.Luke’sbasicObjectivesoftheHospitalManagementspecify,“Toensurequalitymedicalcare,wepractice‘evidence-basedmedicine’”(item2),and“Tofulfillourroleasaninternationalhospital,wepreparetoacceptpatientsfromabroad”(item7).WebelievethatJCIaccreditationisalsoanessentialwayofguaranteeingtoourpatientsfromabroadthatthemedicalserviceweprovidesatisfiesinternationalstandards.

Wediligentlystrivetocontinuouslyimprovethequalityofourmedicalcareandpromotethehighestlevelofsafetyconcerningallaspectsofthishospital,inawarenessandanticipationofmedicalandsocialchanges,whilewemaintainanddeveloptheprovisionofhealthcarethatmeetsJCIstandards.

Foranyfirst-timevisittoourhospitalorforthosewhohavenotvisitedinalongtime,werequire5,400yenFirst-VisitConsultationFeeinadditiontoanyregularmedicalfees.

First-timepatientswithoutamedicalrecordfromapreviousprovider/referralletterfromaclinicormedicalinstitutionarerequiredtopayanadditional5,400yenfor“FirstVisitConsultationFee”atthefirstvisit.ThissystemwasestablishedbytheMinistryofHealth,LaborandWelfaretopromoteefficiencyatmedicalinstitutions,encourageinitialvisitsatlocalclinicsandspecializedmedicalservicesathospitalswithover200beds.
