    (ow do #ou know a thermometer is accurate0The answer is to check it in ice water. 1ater freees at 324 *.5 therefore6 a glass of icewater will be ver# close to 324*. *ollow these steps for checking and calibration'

    Prepare' put the crushed ice into the pitcher or glass and add some water.

    Set the thermometer in the handle.

    Set the thermometer into ice water.

    "eave for a few minutes. 7ou can tell if the thermometer is accurate if it reads 324*.

    8f the thermometer is not accurate6 #ou can calibrate it. -t the back portion of thedial6 there should be a he9agonal or s%uare nut. 1hile the thermometer is still in theice water6 use a wrench to hold the nut secure and twist the dial portion until thetemperature indicator is on 324*.

    Sanitie with an alcohol pad6 then put back into the handle.

    The calibration has to be recorded in the log below.
