What is Colmex?

Colmex is a super professional trading platform which includes real-time charts.

The platform is delivered by Colmex Trading Limited BVI from USA.

Colmex website: www.colmextrading.com

Why Colmex? Colmex delivers many advantages:

• Direct access trading platform.

• Real time stock charts.

• Level II system for stocks.

• Place stop loss orders and close positions using automatic orders.

Who should use this user manual? This user manual can be used by any individual, student or trader, pro or amature, who wishes to get

familiar with the Colmex trading platform.

System Requirements

Minimum Requirements

The following technical specifications defines the minimum hardware requirements of the PC used as

the trading platform:

• CPU: Pentium 4

• RAM: 1GB

• Windows XP/Vista

• Broadband Internet Connection: Minimum 1.5 mbps

Recommended Requirements The following hardware specifications are recommended:

• Pentium 4 Dual Core

• 2GB RAM

• Broadband Internet Connection: 3 mbps

Note: Use only wired connection to the trading PC and not to use a wireless connection.

Information about Firewall The trading platform transmitts and receives quotes and data from the trading servers located in the

United States of America.

For security reasons, most Windows XP/Vista operating systems use a firewall by default.

The firewall application prevents malicious software from harming your computer or your

communication with the internet.

In order for the trading software to successfully communicate with the trading servers in the US, it is

necessary to open selected firewall ports. If you are not familiar with the firewall application, consult

a certified PC technician or contact our technical support helpdesk.

The firewall ports that need to be opened are as follows:

Software Download Real account traders (non-demo users) can obtain the trading software from the following address:

http://www.colmextrading.com/download/ColmexProTrader_Setup.exe

Click the link to open the following window:

Click Run to download and install the software on your PC:

When download is complete, the following window appears:

To install the software click Run. Proceed to the next page to continue.

Software Installation

Windows Vista users might need to confirm an additional security alert before starting the installation

process.

In this case click Allow to allow the installation to begin. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Click Install:

The installation is performed. Do NOT interrupt it:

Running Colmex for the first time and Logging On After installing the software, the following icon appears on the desktop:

To launch Colmex, double click the icon.

When running the software for the first time you will be asked to enter a user name and password.

• In the Trader ID field enter the user name you received.

• In the Password field enter the password you received.

You might choose to mark the following check-boxes:

Mark this checkbox to allow the software to

remember your user ID each time you launch it Remember User ID

Mark this checkbox to allow the software to

remember your password each time you launch it Remember Password

Mark this checkbox to launch the application with

the default screen layout Open Default Screen

Click OK to logon to the application. The main application window opens with default settings.

The main Window

The following main window appears after logging on to the application:

Take note of the upper toolbar:

Each and every button represents a task window as explained below.

Windows settings – general notes

Note the following remarks:

• For each window in the application, right click the mouse to open a settings menu.

• You can configure the color settings and fonts in every window.

• In the Market Watch window, you can right click anywhere except in the Security Symbol

area.

• In the Trade Manager window, you can right click anywhere except in the Security Symbol

area.

• In the Top 20 window, right click is possible on the column titles.

Getting familiar with the application windows

The Trading window

This window allows you to place orders and view Level II quotes.

The graphical icon of this window is . You can open this window from the menu by clicking Trade � Trading.

Enter the security symbol in the white left corner of the window and then press Enter.

The security details are retrieved and presented as follows:

• The current Bid/Ask prices are shown in the window title.

• PCL = Previous Close from the last trading day.

• H and L represents the current day High and Low security prices.

• Last represents the last trade price

• Vol = Secutriy Volume (measured in stocks)

• Below the H & L values appears the net price change in cents and percentage.

• You can open up to 5 trading windows simultaneously.

• The blue information bar shows the latest order status notification in real time.

Please Note:

Some orders produces several notification messages. Only the last message will appear in the blue

information bar. The rest of the messages appear in the Log window (see below) or as a result of

clicking the arrow in the right side of the information bar.

Upper part of the Trading window

The following section explains the fields and buttons used in the upper part of the Trading window.

The amount of stocks field appears next to the SHRT button on the left side of the window (refer to

the screen shot above – QUANTITY).

The default amount of stocks is 100.

You can change the amount of stocks by one of the following methods:

1. Use the arrows (right of the field) to increase/decrease the amount of stocks traded.

2. Type the number of stocks directly.

3. Left click the number of stocks as it appears in the Level II window.

Price Setting

The price field appears to the right of the lock sign (refer to the screenshot above – where PRICE

appears).

You can set the required price by using one of the following methods:

1. Left click a price as it appears in the BID/ASK columns in the Level II window.

2. Use the up/down arrows right of the price field:

a. The left arrows changes the price by 10 cents every click.

b. The right arrows changes the price by one cent (1 cent) every click.

3. When the price field is empty, the automatic price is set to the current ASK price.

4. Type the price directly into the field.

Selecting an ECN for an Order

Placing trading orders on the US stock exchange uses a powerful and extensive computer network

called ECN – Electronic Communication Network.

You can place an order by using each and every ECN supported by the trading platform.

Colmex recommends using one of the following ECNs:

• BUY/SELL order for less than 100 shares in a pre-limites price – NSDQL

• BUY/SELL order for less than 100 shares in market price – NSDQM

• BUY/SELL order for more than 100 shares in a pre-limites price – ARCAL

• BUY/SELL order for more than 100 shares in market price – ARCAM

• Future Stop Loss order – ARCAS

• Future Good Till Cancle (GTC) order – SBSH

Click the drop down menu (right of the SELL button) to list the available ECNs.

From this list select the required ECN for each order.

Please Note:

1. The default price for all limited based orders are set to use the current ASK/BID prices.

2. Starting December 12th

, 2008, the Odd Lot (orders under 100 shares) price of ARCA ECN were

changed.

Account Field

If you have more than one account, select the account in which your order is to be executed.

Make sure to select the account after you have entered and loaded the security symbol data.

Note: Default trading settings will be used each time you select a different security symbol.

Security Symbol Market

In the upper right side of the window appears a letter which represents the market where the security

is traded:

Q - NASDAQ

S - Small Cap NASDAQ stocks

N – NYSE

A – AMEX

Time in Force - TIF

This field is used to define the time frame in which the order is valid and active.

The default setting is the current trading day – DAY.

Any order which is not executed by 16:00 EST is automatically cancelled.

IOC – Immediate or Cancel

Use this TIF option to instruct the broker to execute the order immediately. If the order can not be

executed immediately it is cancelled without any further notice/confirmation message.

Amount of shares to execute

Right to the TIF field appears the amount of shares to execute field.

When this field is set to ANY – the broker tries to BUY/SELL any of the mentioned amount of shares

specified. For example, if you wish to buy 400 shares and set ANY, even if the broker buys only 300

shares – the order is executed (you will hold 300 shares instead of the 400 you originally asked for).

If the field was set to AON (All or Nothing) – then the broker tries to BUY/SELL the exact amount of

shares specified. If the broker can not obtain the specified amount, then the order is cancelled.

BUY Button Click this button to buy a LONG position or to cover a SHORT position.

SELL Button Click this button to close a LONG position (partial/full).

SHRT Button

Click this button to hold a short position.

Please note the short position rules (see below).

The trading platform rejects any short order which does not follow the short rules.

Short Position Rules

The trading platform automatically checks if the security is shortable after sending the short order.

The message: Send Rej Shrt – Security that is not shortable appears if the security is not shortable.

You can pre-check if a security is shortable by using the Symbol tab in the Trade Manager window

(see below).

DEF Button

Click this button to retrieve the default settings of the Trading Window (see below).

P (Position) Button

Click this button to automatically load the amount of shares left in your position (in the specified

security).

Lock Button

Use this button to lock the trading window to prevent mis-clicks.

The button will become red colored when locked.

Order Cancellation

You can cancel any order that is not executed. Please note that some orders are ececuted

immediately after launching them, and therefore you may not be able to cancel them.

If an order was partially executed, you might be abler to cancel the open part of the order.

You might cancel an order by using one of the following methods:

• Click the CXL button in the Trading window. This cancels the last sent order from this

window.

• In the Trade Manager window, under the Order tab, left click the X sign under the X column.

• In the Trade Manager window, under the Order tab, right click the order line you want to

cancel.

A menu appears. Select one of the options:

o CancelOne – Cancel only the selected order.

o CancleAll – Cancel all opened orders.

o CancelSecSym – Cancel all open orders for the specified security.

The Hidden part

To unveil the hidden part of the window, drag the separating line between the Level II area and the

hot buttons area.

LockAcc – Lock Account checkbox

If you are using a single trading account, you can "lock" the application to use only this account.

As long as this checkbox is marked, each and every sent order uses this account and it will not change.

Confirm Sending

When this checkbox is marked, a confirmation pop-up message appears upon every sent order, prior

to executing it.

Please mark this checkbox to prevent errors.

Config Button

The config button allows you to further set the trading window. Selecting the Default Order allows

you to modify and set new default settings for orders.

Once configured, use the DEF button (see above) to restore these settings.

The following pages describe different order examples.

Place a Buy Order (Long position) in Market price

In order to buy security in market price and hold a long position, follow the steps below:

1. Type the security symbol.

2. Type amount of shares to buy.

3. If you buy less than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: NSDQM.

4. If you buy more than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: ARCAM.

5. Click the BUY button to execute the order.

6. Confirm the order.

7. The security is purchased immediately in market price when the order reaches the stock

exchange computers.

Place a Short order in Market Price

To place a short order in market price follow the steps below:

1. Repeat steps 1-4.

2. Click the SHRT button.

3. Confirm the order.

SELL order in Market price

To close a long position (partially or fully) in market price follow the steps below:

1. Type the security symbol.

2. Type the amount of shares to sell.

3. If you sell less than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: NSDQM.

4. If you sell more than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: ARCAM.

5. Click the SELL button to execute the order.

6. Confirm the order.

7. The security is sold immediately in market price when the order reaches the stock exchange

computers.

Cover a short in Market Price

To cover a short position in market price follow these steps:

1. Repeat steps 1-4.

2. Click the BUY button.

3. Confirm the order.

BUY order with Price Limit

To place a BUY order using a price limit, follow the steps below:

1. Type the security symbol.

2. Type the amount of shares to buy.

3. If you buy less than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: NSDQL.

4. If you buy more than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: ARCAL.

5. Enter the maximum price you are willing to pay for the security.

6. Click the BUY button to execute the order.

7. Confirm the order.

8. The order will be executed if the security price is equal or lower than the specified price.

Short order using Price Limit

To place a short order with price limit, follow the steps below:

1. Repeat steps 1-4.

2. Enter the minimum security price you're will to get for your security.

3. Click the SHRT button.

4. Confirm the order.

Sell order using Price Limit

To close a long position (partially or fully) using a price limit, follow the steps below:

1. Type the security symbol.

2. Type the amount of shares to sell.

3. If you sell less than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: NSDQL.

4. If you sell more than 100 shares – it is recommended to use the ECN: ARCAL.

5. Enter the mimimum price you're willing to get for the security.

6. Click the SELL button to execute the order.

7. Confirm the order.

8. The order is executed and the shares is sold if the security price is equal or higher than the

specified price.

Cover a Short position with Price Limit

To cover a short position with a price limit, follow the steps below:

1. Repeat steps 1-4.

2. Enter the maximum price you are willing to get for the security.

3. Click the BUY button.

4. Confirm the order.

Place a Stop Loss Order

To protect an opened position using a future sell command follow the steps below:

1. Type the security symbol.

2. Enter the amount of shares to sale.

3. Select the ECN: ARCAS.

4. Click the SELL button to sale the position.

5. Confirm the warning window.

6. In the new opened window select Market in the Type field (i.e Stop Market).

7. In the trigger field enter the minimum price you are willing to get for the security if the

security will cause a loss.

8. Confirm the order.

9. The order is executed if the security price is equal or lower than the trigger price you

entered.

Place a Stop Range order

You might choose to protect an open position by placing a future sell command which will be

executed in case of either earning or losing.

To place a single command which covers an earning/losing situation follow the steps below:

1. Type the security symbol.

2. Enter amount of shares to realize.

3. Select the ECN � ARCAS.

Note: Only ARCAS ECN allows you to place Stop Range commands.

4. Click the SELL button to sale your position.

5. The following warning message appears:

6. To proceed you must confirm the message. Click OK.

7. The Stop Order opens:

8. In the Stop Order window select the Type of command of your choice:

Limit (i.e. Stop Limit) – using this type places a future BUY/SELL order in a pre-defined price

limit of your choice only when a certain trigger is activated.

To use this type of order (Stop Limit), enter the trigger price in which the order is sent for

execution in the stock exchange computers.

Now type the limit price for execution:

Market (i.e. Stop Market) - using this type places a future BUY/SELL order in market price

only when a certain trigger is activated.

To use this type of order (Stop Market), enter the trigger price in which the order is sent for

execution in the stock exchange computers:

Range (i.e. Stop Range) – use this type to place a future sell command or to cut loss in your

position.

If you hold a long position, then the High Price defines an earning price and the Low Price

defines the stop loss price.

If you hold a short position, then the High Price defines the stop loss price and the Low Price

defines the earning price.

Note: Stop Range is available only for the current position you hold.

9. Confirm the order.

10. The order is executed only if the security reaches the High or the Low price defined in the

Range command.

Good Till Cancel (GTC) commands

Orders which are waiting for execution outside the trading hours are managed by market makers.

You can place GTC orders in Colmex using the ECN SBSH only. SBSH is the ECN route of the market

makers in City Group.

Please Note:

• GTC commands are available starting in Colmex version 2.2.1.43.

• Sending GTC orders involves market makers fees.

• In the trading account the fee appears as an ECN fee.

To place a GTC order follow these steps:

1. Type the security symbol.

2. Enter amount of shares to realize.

3. From the ECN list select SBSHS (Future Stop Soss command).

4. From the Time in Force drop down menu (marked as DAY) select GTC.

5. Click the SELL Button. The Stop Order window appears:

6. In the Type field select Market or Limit:

• Market: Enter the Trigger price in which the order will be sent for execution.

• Limit: Enter the Trigger and Limit prices. The order is sent for execution only

between the prices range (between the trigger and the limit price).

7. Confirm the order. Click OK.

8. The order is sent to execution outside the trading hours if the security reaches the trigger

price.

Chart Window

The chart window shows the security prices vs. time.

This window has the following icon: . You can access the chart window also from the main menu: Trade � Chart.

Displaying different time levels on the chart

In the chart window you find the upper toolbar:

And the lower toolbar:

The numbers buttons in the upper toolbar (1, 2, 5, etc) represents the time period shown in the chart

depends on the selected time period in the lower toolbar. For example:

• If the selected time period in the lower toolbar is of Minute, then the numbers in the upper

toolbar means – 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.

• If the selected time period is Day, then the numbers in the upper toolbar means 1 Day, 2

Days etc.

Drawing Support & Resistance lines

The three line buttons enable you to draw support, resistance and/or trend lines on the chart.

To draw lines: click and release the button of the requested type of line and then stretch a line over

the chart using the mouse.

Zooming charts In and Out

Use the zoom in and zoom out buttons to reduce and enlarge the chart scales to view the chart data

in a precise way and for additional/less time periods.

Click the zoom in/out buttons as well as the arrows (on the left) to specify different time periods on

the chart.

Magnifying Glass

Use the maginifying glass to zoom in a specific area on the chart.

Click and release the maginifying glass button. Note the mouse pointer has changed. Move the mouse

to the designated area on the chart and click and release the mouse once. The chart will be enlarged

in the selected area.

Left Click

Clicking a left click anywhere in the chart will show a cross hair pointer and the time specific details

will be presented at the left top part of the chart.

Right Click

Right click anywhere on the chart will open the following menu:

Data

The data option allows you to choose the time period for which the security details will be shown.

Use this option to choose whether to show the pre/post market data.

Study Line

Use the study line option to show if additional technical indicators on, above or below the security

chart.

On the left side of the window appears the list of available studies (technical indicators).

Under the Selected Studies appears a list of chosen studies. These studies will be presented on/in the

chart window.

Use the left/right arrows to add/remove studies to/from the chart.

Use the buttons on the right side of thw window as follows:

• UP/DOWN – set the appearance order of the studies.

• Config – modify the selected indicator settings.

• Apply – apply the new indicator settings on the chart.

RECT

The RECT option allows you to add/remove rectangles below or above the chart. Use these rectangles

to show additional studies.

Adding a new Rectangle

To add a new rectangle, select RECT � Add.

In the newly created rectangle you will find buttons which allows you to close/enlarge the rectangle.

Use the arrows to change the order of the rectangles

Use the X to remove this rectangle.

Note: You can modify the rectangle appearance from the RECT menu as well.

To modify the rectangle settings select RECT � Config.

Chart Settings

Chart settings allows you to change the way the charts appears as well as to save/load charts.

• Colors – Allows adjustment of Background, Grid, and Label colors.

• Load Setting – Load a previously saved .cst file (See below) to view a chart with the same

saved chart settings.

• Save Setting – Save a chart configuration as a .cst file.

Notes:

o If not saved, you will have to configure the chart settings again every time you open

a new chart window.

o Save the settings to default.cst file to open the saves settings automatically.

• Clear Setting – Totally clears the chart window of all data.

• Data Buffer - If for some reason (such as a bad connection), the chart data stored in your

computer's memory is corrupt, click Remove to delete it.

• History - is a list of the last twenty charts displayed in a chart window.

Double click on a symbol to display the chart.

Use Move Up/Move Down to change the chart order.

Use Insert to insert a new chart in the list, etc.

Important note regarding the use of black color in charts:

If you adjusted the chart color or chart background color to black you may see "holes" in the charts

and some data might "disappear".

To solve this issue:

1. Right click inside the chart window. In the menu select Study Line.

2. Select Price (Candle+) and then click the Config button (to the right). The Price Chart

Configure window appears.

3. In the Chart Type select Candle.

4. Left click the color cell of Line Color and change it to white. Click OK.

5. In the Chart Study Config window click Apply to apply changes. Click OK to close the window.

6. Save the new chart settings: Right Click in the chart � Settings � Save Settings.

Account Manager

To open the account manager window click the button or select from the main menu: Trade �

Account Manager.

The Position tab

Displays all open positions.

Right click on a symbol to load a Trading window with security, number of shares, and the account in

which the position is held.

Columns on the Position button are as follows:

• Symbol – The security symbol. Right click on the symbol to load a Trading window with that

security, number of shares, and the account number.

• Account – Your account number.

• Shares – The number of shares.

• Avgcost – Average cost of all held shares.

• Realized – If you have sold part of your position, the realized P&L on the sale is displayed

here.

• Unrealized – Your P&L if you were to close the position at the current market price.

• Bid and Ask – The current inside market on that security.

• Type – type of account: Cash, Margin or Short.

• Withhold BP - The amount of buying power used if the position was opened on the current

trade date.

Account tab Displays account information:

Columns on the Account tab are as follows:

• Account – Your account number(s).

• Type – Your account type: 1=cash 2=margin

• Realized – Your profit and loss (P&L) for the current day.

• Unrealized – Your change in value of all current positions combined.

• Open BP – Your Daytrading buying power, loaded daily for your account(s)

• Current BP – Your current buying power. Fluctuates as you open and close positions.

• OverNight BP – This is your Overnight buying power. It is displayed as a guide.If any position

that was opened today exceeds your Over Night buying power, then this field turns red,

alerting you of that fact. Exceeding OverNight BP results in a margin call.

NOTE: If your overnight buying power is less than your Daytrading buying power, the

program will not prevent you from exceeding your ONBP.

• Tickets – The number of trades for the day.

• Shares – amount of traded shares for the current day.

• Status – account status (opened/closed).

Trade Manager

To open the trade manager click the button or select Trade � Trade Manager from the main

menu.

Order tab

Displays all open orders.

Right click on the row containing the order, to open the Cancel/Config window. Columns on the Order

button are as follows:

• CXL: Left click to cancel an order.

• Time: The time the order was entered.

• Symb: The security symbol.

• B/S:

· B = Buy

· S = Sell

· SS = Sell Short

• Qty (Quantity): The number of shares on the original order.

• Open: The number of shares currently open.

• Price: The price on your order.

• Route: The routing selected for your order.

• Type - the entered stop price:

· SL = Stop Limit

· SM = Stop Market

· SR = Stop Range

• Status:

· Sending - The order has not yet reached the market.

· Accepted - The order has reached the market

· Canceling - Order is not yet canceled.

• Short:

· Y = Yes

· N = No

• TIF: The time period that the order is active (i.e. DAY, 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 min.) IOC = Immediate

or Cancel.

• Account – the account from which this order was sent.

• Token – order confirmation number as given by the broker.

Trades & Tickets

Displays all today's trades.

Columns on the Trade tab are basically the same as those on the Order button.

Log tab

Displays all the messages generated in the Blue message line on the Trading windows.

The Log is only on your computer's hard drive.

This log has every action you performed on the trading platform for the day.

Only the actions performed on one computer show up on the Log, if you switch computers during the

day, then you will have a separate log on the other computer.

Symbol tab

Has various functions:

1. Enter the stock symbol in the Symb column and hit Enter.

2. If the stock is shortable, the number of shares available are displayed.

3. In some cases, additional shares as well as additional securities may be located by calling

your broker.

• Market – Market Designator.

• HiRisk:

o Y = Yes

o N = No.

Stocks designated as HiRisk have a 50% maintenance requirement.

• ShortSize – The number of shares available to sell short:

o 0 represents no short on this share.

o 1000000 – the share is shortable.

Market Watch

This window allows you to view data on stocks you wish to track.

You can access this window from the main menu: Trade � Market Watch.

By default, the market indices appears with the $ sign. I.e SPX$ represents the S&P500 indice.

To track a share, enter the symbol in the yellow area and hit enter or arrow up/down on the

keyboard.

To automatically load your Trading window, right click your mouse on the security symbol.

Five Market Watch windows can be opened at on time. The capacity for each window is forty

symbols. However, the total number of symbols displayed on one screen for all Market Watch

windows is limited to eighty.

Columns in the Market Watch window are:

• Symbol – Security symbol

• Change – Net change from yesterday's 4:00PM close.

• Last – Last trade

• Bid/Ask – Level I BID/ASK prices.

• High/Low – Today's high and low.

• Open – Today's opening trade.

• yClose – Yesterday's 4:00PM closing price.

• Volume – Today's total volume.

Configuring the Market Watch window

To configure this window, Right click anywhere except on a security symbol.

Sorting Symbols Alphabetically

• Left click and swipe up or down, highlighting all symbols to be sorted.

• Next, right click anywhere on the first gray column on the left side.

• A dialog box should open with 3 options: Sort, Move, ShowAll.

• Highlight Sort and left click.

• The selected symbols should now be sorted.

Moving Symbols

• In the first gray column on the left side, left click and swipe up or down highlighting all

symbols to be moved.

• The entire row must be highlighted. Next, right click anywhere on that first gray column.

• A dialog box should open with 3 options: Sort, Move, ShowAll.

• Highlight Move and left click. Left click again on the row where you want the symbol to be

moved.

• A dialog box should open.

• Click Yes and the symbol(s) should now be moved.

Moving Columns

Moving columns is accomplished the same way as moving symbols.

Restoring Hidden Columns

If you have hidden columns on the Market Watch window, and wish to restore them, Right click on

the top row containing the column titles. Highlight ShowAll and left click.

Time & Sale window The time & sale window is accessible through the main menu: Trade � Time/Sale.

This window is a very important trading tool. It reports trades as they occur.

The first column shows the price of the trade. The second column indicates the number of shares.

Multiply by 100 to obtain the actual number of shares. The third column shows the time of the trade.

The Time & Sale window can function alone. It does not need to be linked to a Trading Window to

function. The full number of shares may be displayed instead of dividing the number by 100.

Right click to open the Config window and uncheck Share / 100.

Linking Time and Sale to a Trading Window

Put your mouse cursor on the Stock Box on the Trading window. Hold down the left mouse button

and drag the cursor to the Time/Sale window and release the mouse button (drag and drop).

Color Code on Time and Sale

• Blue represents a trade at the Ask price.

• Red represents a trade at the Bid price.

• Orange represents a trade between the Bid and Ask

• Black represents a trade below the Bid

• Green represents a trade above the Ask.

Configuring the Time and Sale Window

• Right click on the Time & Sale window to open the Config window. Default colors may be

customized. Vertical and/or horizontal grid lines may be added.

Full number of shares may be displayed, and the font may be adjusted.

• To save your Time & Sale settings as a default, click Save as Default.

• To load your default settings in any Time & Sale window, click Load Default.

Top 20

This window is accessible through the main menu by selecting: Trade � Top 20

This is a live market statistics window.

It lists NASDAQ (NASD) and New York/American Exchange (NYSE) securities in order by most active,

and percentage gainers and losers.

• Right click on a symbol to load a Trading window.

• Right click the gray field above the numbers (marked in red above) to config this window as

follows:

Use the level option to filter this table according to shares price: 1-10$ or >10$.

Island Book To display the Island book, open it through the main menu by selecting: Trade � ISLD Book.

This window can be linked to a Trading window, or can stand-alone.

The island book shows all trades/open orders for the selected share sorted by BID/ASK share prices

and amount of shares.

About NASDAQ Trading using Island (ISLD) - Any number of shares

8:00 AM ET to 6:30 PM ET. Limit only. Island Book order matching.

All open ISLD orders are canceled at 6:30 PM ET

Island is one of the most dominant ECNs in today’s market.

Island matches buyers and sellers. When an ISLD order is matched, execution is instantaneous.

The program utilizes a direct connection to Island, providing order entry and execution as fast as

today's technology allows.

The default order for ISLD, and all limit orders on Global Trader is no price in the price box, but at the

ask, sell at the bid.

Alert & Trigger

The alert & Trigger window is accessible through the main menu by selecting: Trade � Alert &

Trigger.

Alerts allow you to define parameters, that when met, trigger a visual and/or audible alert.

Additionally, the alert can be set to trigger a PreDefined order.

Buttons and options in this window are as follows:

• Edit – Click on any previously configured alert, and then click Edit to change the parameters

(Or, double click on the row).

• Delete - Click on any previously configured alert, the click Delete to remove it.

• Turn Off Sound – Click to silence a triggered audible alert.

• Auto Delete – When checked the alert is automatically deleted once it has been triggered.

• Repeat – When checked the alert repeats daily or intraday, depending on the alert.

• Triggered – When checked indicates that the alert has been triggered.

• Show Alert Window – When checked up a pop window is generated when the alert is

triggered.

• Send Order – When checked specific PreDefined orders are triggered.

• Browse – Opens the Select PreDefined Order window. PreDefined orders or Groups

(Baskets) may be selected for triggering when Alert parameters are met.

• Turn Off Sound –Click to silence a currently triggered audible alert.

• Reset – Click to reset a triggered alert. (Same as unchecking the Triggered box).

• OK – Click to save your settings.

• Cancel – Click to cancel your changes.

To create and define a new trigger follow the orders below:

1. In the Alert Config window (above) click the Add button to create a new alert.

New window appears:

2. In the Name field enter a textual description of your choice to identify this alert.

3. In the SecSym field enter the share symbol for this alert.

4. Click the Add button (middle part of the window). New condition window appears:

Assuming you wish to be alerted when the share is reaching the price of 30USD, enter a

trigger which will alert you when the share last trade is 10-20 cents below this price.

Note:

• Different shares behaves differently and moves in a different pace. You might need

to define the alert with an earlier price trigger.

• It is recommended to use the <= and >= signs.

5. Click OK. The condition window closes.

a. Add – Allows you to add multiple conditions on the same alert.

b. Edit – Click on any row then click Edit to adjust the parameters (or, double click on

the row).

c. Del - Click on any row then click Del to Delete that row.

d. Fit – sizes the columns to fit the data.

6. Enable – When checked the alert is enabled. See below.

7. Mark the Auto Delete check box to remove the alert after it is triggered. See below:

• In the right side of the window – select the type of alert:

o Sound – When checked an audible alert is generated form your computer sound

card's external speakers.

o Beep – When checked an audible alert is generated from your computer's internal

speaker .

o Loop – When checked the audible alert is Looped so that the sound is continuous,

like an alarm.

o Browse – Allows you to select a wave file of your choice to replace the default

sound.

o Preview – Allows you to preview selected audible alerts.

• Click OK to set the alert in the system.

• Click Quit to close the alert window.

Note:

When the alert window is triggered, the system waits for your response. You can not access

any other window in the system until you respond to the alert.

Market Clock

To show the time and date in the US, click the clock button in the main toolbar or select Tools �

Market Clock from the main menu. The time and date window appears:

You can drag this mini window to anywhere on the screen.

Right click inside this window to open the Market Clock Configuration window:

You can perform the following tasks:

• Select a clock format – digital/analog.

• Mark the Always on Top check box to display this window on top of the other windows.

• Mark the Title Bar check box to place a title bar on this mini window.

• Mark the Long Format check box to display the date in the mini window.

• Mark the Hour in 24 hours format check box to show the clock in 24H format.

• Click the Hide Clock button to remove this window.

• Click OK to save and apply changes or Cancel to close the configuration window.

Mail

The mail window is available through the main menu in the main application window under Tools �

Mail.

When mail has been sent to you, an alert is displayed, scrolling across the top of the screen.

• To clear the alert, click anywhere on the new message or click the Clear New Mail Alert

button.

• To reply to a message, click anywhwere on the message, and then click the Reply button.

• Type in your reply, and click the Send key.

Note: Messages must be sent to a specific User ID.

Organize Windows on Desktop

Colmex allows you to customize your desktop application following your needs.

All application windows are available through the Trade main menu.

The most needed windows are : Trading, Trade Manager and Account Manager.

Open Screen

When running the application after installation, the default windows layout is used.

If the default layout doesn’t show follow the steps below:

1. From the main menu select File.

2. Select Open Screen.

3. Double click the item Default.scr to open the pre-defined windows layout.

4. Select another file to load a different windows layout.

Save Screen

Once you organized the windows as you like:

1. From the main menu select File.

2. Select Save Screen. Name the new windows layout and click Save.

3. To open this layout in the future, see the above explanation about Open Screen.

4. To use the new layout as default, save your new layout as default.scr.

Note: You can save any windows layout under any name of your choice.

Clear Screen

To remove all appearing windows from the screen – select File � Clear Screen.

All opened windows are closed.

Now you can re-organize the desktop's windows.

Open the application on more than one monitors

If you have more than one monitor and your desktop is already extended to the other monitors, you

can expand the application to cover the other monitors as well.

• Click the Maximizer button (appears in the title bar of the application). The application will

extend and cover all usable monitors.
