Peninsula Golf Club Event Schedule for June 2019
Wow what a weekend it was! I would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2019 Spring Shotgun. We had a total turn-out of 124 players! A BIG congratu-lation to Mark Mitrovich & Sid Krumpe for low gross of the field, Michael Johnson & John Marinacci for low net of the field, Suzanne Owens & Cathy Clackson for low gross of the ladies and Rena Peabody & Dolly Burnett for low net of the ladies
I would also like to give recognition to Tory Clayton and our Maintenance crew for having the course in such great condition (especially considering the weather on Saturday).

Other Important Dates and Events-
June 21st - Soroptimist Tee’s Off Against Cancer- Golf Tournament. This in a noon shotgun and a four player scramble. There will be awards and hors d’oeuvres fol-lowing golf from 4-6 pm. Lots of prizes in this event- and a discounted entry for members. Contact the golf shop for more information and to pick up your entry form.

· We will also be starting our PGA Jr League on June 11th.

The PGC Lady Golfers tee off at 9 am on Wednesdays. The June competition is the Commemorative Tournament – Match Play. Sign up in the locker room. Our home and home with the Gorge Vale lady golfers is June 22. There will be lunch followed by golf. Please sign up in the locker room! Thanks to the ladies for sit-ting circles during the Spring Shotgun and to the golfers who donated in support of our scholarships and projects. Ladies, please join us on Wednesday mornings, guests are welcome.

We have received "Preliminary Ap-proval" for our Public Liquor License, conditional on the installation of a bar-rier within ten feet of the bar prohibiting minors from entering that area. Instal-lation is scheduled for June 3rd; once complete and approved by the Liquor Authority, we should receive our license.
The Board of Directors would like to "Thank" our members and especially our clubhouse staff for your coopera-tion and patience; everyone has done a great job helping us work through this process.

We are very busy in the Clubhouse. Summer events have us booked almost every weekend till October. Member Dinners will resume in Novem-ber with a Prime Rib Dinner. Thank you to every-one that comes and enjoys a meal and drink to support your Clubhouse. Thank you, Rena Parish

Eight members of Peninsula Golf Club participated in the 5th Annual Coachella Valley Invitational Golf Challenge played at various golf courses in the Palm Springs area from May 4, 2019 through May 11, 2019.
Paul Reed was the winner of the event using a modified Stableford scoring sys-tem. Tom Humleker came in second place and Mel Triggs was third. Two time defending champion, Bill Evenstad placed fourth.
Other PGC competitors in the fun filled week were Jim Root, Steve Colvin, Jeff Colvin and Jay Kalla.
