PRIORITY PARKING NEAR THE TRAIN STATIONS
BEGINNING MARCH 9, 2020
Provide Pointe-Claire citizens with priority access to public transit
2
Beginning on March 9, 2020, a new street parking area, identified as zone 50, will be reserved for Pointe-Claire residents around the Cedar Park, Pointe-Claire and Valois train stations.
This initiative aims to control access to street parking for Pointe-Claire citizens who use public transit, in anticipation of the March 31, 2020, closure planned for the Mont-Royal rail tunnel as part of the work to develop the Réseau express métropolitain (REM).
This tunnel is currently used by commuter trains on the Deux-Montagnes and Mascouche lines, which means that beginning in April, thousands of users will have to find an alternative means of transport, and may use Pointe-Claire train stations.
Accordingly, parking permits will be required and issued as of February 10, 2020.
