Falkirk Printworks is the in-house printing service of FalkirkCouncil, providing a true one-stop print service to the Counciland other public and not for profit organisations. The demands of the Council and partner organisations are many and varied, therefore we are fully experienced in all aspects of the print process fromstationery and business forms to all kinds of marketing material in one, twoand full colour.
With our full range of services at Falkirk Printworks, you have a ready-made solution to all your print and marketing needs.
From typesetting and design to print, from high volume copying todigital colour printing and from inserting/mailing to fulfilment, youwill find Printworks is the ideal partner to support all your businessobjectives.
We deal with artwork from external sources everyday and are happy toanswer any questions you may have about supplying us with artwork.
Supplying Files
We accept Compact Discs, DVD Discs and USB drives.
In addition to this, we can accept work by e-mail or, alternatively forlarger files, by using our FTP site “FileZilla”. This is the preferred optionfor high quality jobs requiring large file transfer - call for details.
Software Packages
We primarily use Apple Macintosh computers, but can deal with certainPC files.
To ensure that what we print is what you expect, we will send you aproof and an approval form before we print your job. You caneither post or fax the form back, or send us an e-mail statingwhether the job is good to print or needs any changes.
We can produce two types of proof:
1. Hardcopy proof: This is a printout of your job from our XeroxDC700 digital printer and will give you an indication of whatthe job will look like. It is accurate for size and content, andwill pick up any colour separation problems. It is also around95% accurate for colour reproduction.
2. PDF proof:We can e-mail you a PDF of the job for you tosign off, but a PDF will not highlight any colour separationissues that may occur on press and is not 100% colouraccurate as colours vary between computer screens.
