    Get to know the front panel12Congratulations! You can now print, copy, and scan with your new HP OfficeJet.Additionalsoftwareprograms maybe availablewith your HPOfficeJet.

    To install the programs, do thefollowing:

    Remove and reinsertyour HP OfficeJetinstallation CDin yourCD-ROMdrive.

    The HP OfficeJet software installationmenu appears. The Productivity Sectionlists additional programs you can install.Click the program name and follow theonscreen installation instructions.

    10Turn on your computer. Windows softwareautomatically configures your HP OfficeJet.

    A series of Microsoft New Hardware Foundmessages appear. The configuration maytake a few moments.

    Configure your software

    Click to complete the software setup.If this screen does not appear, seeChapter 1, Additional Setup Informationin the Basic Guide.

    OKNote to USB Users: These screens mayhave already appeared on your PC while youwere setting up.

    Note to Windows NT 4 Users: The message,"HP OfficeJet G Series Configuration done"appears instead. See step b.

    Look at your display for the language list.Enter the code for your language, and thenconfirm your selection.

    Insert color print cartridge

    Remove the color print cartridge (widerone) from its packaging and, being carefulto touch only the black plastic, gentlyremove both the green pull tab and theblue tape covering the nozzles.

    Push the color print cartridge firmly down intothe slot on the left. Lower the left print-cartridgelatch down onto the top of the cartridge, andpush down until the latch locks firmly into place.

    CAUTION:Do not touchor removethe gold-coloredcontacts.

    Print an alignment page9Make sure paper is loaded in yourHP OfficeJet.

    The message Press toAlign Cartridges appears in thedisplay. Press the key toenable the HP OfficeJet to performthe alignment. After a page prints,the alignment is complete.

    Look at the alignment page forgreen check marks, and thenrecycle or discard the page.
