Let’s Jump at Trot AroundA topnotch sport that is no longer reserved for celebrities.

Having fallen in love with his childhood pastime, NakornKamonsiri or Kru Ta, an awarded national horse rider, opened a complete club of horse riding sport. The club offers horse riding lessons by renowned instructors and has one of the most completed pro shops anywhere.

Trot Around Equestrian Center (TAEC) was founded in 2005 by three national horse riders as a complete horse riding club. Its objective is to educate the public about horse riding and to give young people opportunity to touch upon ways to properly ride horse. The club’s goal is to be a part in developing future athletes in horse riding sport.

The club’s target has always been building national athletes, who will someday participate in national and international competitions. The viewpoint which aligns with the club’s objective and target is to promote and support any person who is interested in horse riding to compete in national level.

Kru Ta – a big partner of club – admired this riding horse sport as Teacher Ta admires sport of riding horse once said “human has had high relation with horses because; horses are animals being able to learn and respond to human in various ways. Human, thus, loves and impresses in horses' abilities, appearances and expressions. Together with them, human learns ways of applying horse from the past to the present such as transportation, wars, agriculture including riding horse for entertainment and enjoyment. Afterwards, it has been developed as Equestrian.”

“Equestrian has been one sport by human and animal cooperating in one team and victory has been originated by depending on relation coming from trust and acceptance each other between human and horse. In addition, it has been the sport that both male and female having a right to participate in competition. When obtaining victory, they have been able to receive reward medal at same dais without gender division like other sports,” said Dhewin Manathanya or Kru Win – another national horse rider and big partner.

Trot Around Equestrian Center is a popular club for horse riding because it is well equipped with amenities and training facilities. The Center’s personnel are well-trained and coached, promising a bright future for Trot Around Equestrian Center. The Club has been sending numerous athletes to participate in international competitions and will continue to produce new athletes with talent to compete in the future. Consequently, the club has been recognized as a premiere horse riding club in Thailand.

Additionally, Trot Around Equestrian Center has also been chosen as a venue to host many national competitions in Thailand.

Trot Around Equestrian Center possesses a standardized training track, including an indoor track of (20x70meters) and an outdoor track of (45x90meters). The club also pays special emphasize to the quality control of the tracks because the quality of the track may ultimately have an effect on the horses.

Six Services provided by the Club

1. Horse Stable Rental: This amenity is not just a shelter for the horse, it is a full service that ensures that the horses are well fed and properly rested. Client can chooses his or her own “horse babysitter”, chooses the type of food to feed the horse, and even decorate the stall to suits his or her style. The Club’s horse stalls have a very natural setting, making it easier for the horses to adjust to their nature. The Club has 50 permanent horse stalls and 50 temporary horse stalls for rental. A monthly fee is about 14,000 baht per horse charging with 25,000 baht membership.

2. Riding Lesson: The lessons provided by TAEC can be classified as a leisure lesson and a competitive horse riding lesson. TAEC’s trainers have been in a national horse riding team. They have adequate knowledge and invaluable experience to share at all levels. This is why TAEC is extremely popular. In the sport of horse riding, it’s all about the skill that can be fully demonstrated by TAEC for the students to watch and learn. The club requires student from the age of 4. The student can see for themselves of the technique used by TAEC trainers live in person. The Club ensures that each trainer has more than ten years of experience in horse riding competition, both inside and outside the country. A private riding package course fee is 18,000 baht per person.

3. Horse Rental: A rental can be categorized into two types: a horse rental

for leisure and a horse rental for competition. Club has prepared horses in accordance to different levels of the competition and the ability of the riders. TAEC have sectioned each horse for different usage. This will allow the customer to select each horse according to his or her own preference. A price rate is 5,000 baht per horse per day.

4. Horse Training: Club also offers a service in training horse for Dressage and Show Jumping. The horses are trained by national team horse riders, which are high skilled and have years of experience.

5. Horse Transportation: Horse transportation is one of the essences that cannot be neglected. TAEC offers a horse transportation service to import horse from Australia. It has a standardized vehicle, which is very safety for horse transportation. TAEC has two sizes of horse transportation vehicles, a trailer for two horses and a truck for six horses. Six horses vehicle is a fully air-conditioned truck, making it very comfortable for the horses to ride on it.

6. Breeding: This is yet another service that has awed the clients. TAEC has imported excellent breeding horses to fit customer requirement of breeds.

TAEC has a stall manager taking care of each stall all the time. He’s also highly trained in the horse riding field. In addition, TAEC has in-house veterinarian, taking care of horse’s diet and well being. Consequently, club’s client can be ensured that their horses will be in the eyes of experts at all times.

Club has about 40 customers per day and is open for business everyday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Currently, the club has four trainers in addition to 22 full-time staffs overseeing the comfort to both the horses and the clients.

Horse transportation has many demands on Sunday of competition. The transportation takes about 3 times per competition. Distance is a barrier. If distance is far, horse is transported 1 day in advance. If distance is near, horse is transported within 1 day.When questioning the tendency in horse riding sport, Kru Ta explained that this sport has become popular for few years now. Most students are either here out of their own interest or parents’ wishes.

“Horse riding requires a lot of concentration. If the riders do not have a high level of concentration, they can fall off the horse at anytime. Rider must have a good balance of concentration in order to control the horse and arrange a correct posture in accordance to the horse riding regulation.”

Club offers a course “horse treatment” for autistic children. It has been proven to be able to helpful with mood development while performing activities on the horse back. It’s also to train the child to balance his or her sitting position until he or she can obtain his or her concentration.

“In addition, the exercise teaches children to have no fear. The advanced lesson trains children to perform many tricks while riding the horse including releasing their hands, turning to the left and right, bending their body to lie down on the horse back, and teaching them to touch rhythm and posture of walking of the horse. These will allow the children to exercise their muscles and feel entertaining with this activity,” said Kru Win.

Preparing to ride horse

A person interested in horse riding should have his or her mind ready to study. He or she should also love animal, especially a horse. Many customers have found their love in horse riding at Hua-Hin beach.

The equipments that one should have for horse riding are: a polo shirt, pants with specific design for horse riding, boots for horse riding, gloves, whip, and helmet for horse riding.

“If students are interested in learning horse riding at the first time but not sure to keep learning or not, they do not need to buy these equipments because they could borrow from TAEC. It could save parents’ money, as we know that the equipments of horse riding are expensive and rarely find in department store if you decid to start this sport you can go to Trot Around Shop on Sanampao Road where has everything necessary for horse riding,” Kru Win suggested.

For the beginners who has first time riding, club will select a horse which can be easily trained and give student a ride-test. Trainer will tell the student of how to ride and control horse.

“At the beginning of the lesson, horse riding requires good training

school, which can benefit student. Good school does not depend on how the high price it costs. Good environment, safety place and experienced trainer are all needed instead. For example, Kru Ta who has won the first place in many competitions, especially the outstanding one in 13th Asian Games held in Bangkok, is my first and current trainer here. It will go well, if you have good beginning,” said Pom as national horse rider of youth team and championship winner in Show Jumping, who has opportunity to study and train from this place.

Another person training at this place and having important role in horse riding sport is Princess Patcharakittiyapa. She has favored this kind of sport when she was young as said in her interview in Ploy Gam Pet magazine, issue 131 of July 2007, about horse...

“I like horse. When I was young, I have ever rode horse at

Hua-Hin. Afterwards, I have been riding horse continuously. Despite of its cuteness, horse has both moods – the good and bad one.”

She has many excellent horse strains. Yet, she loves “Honky Tong” most because she feels happy when she rides it and it is very clever. She used to training for the Show Jumping competition and she won the third reward.

“I usually ride horse as a hobby with my younger brother (Kru Win). We decided to become partners in business which completely imports famous brands of horse riding equipments to sell in Thailand.
