School Swimming Carnival
Year 7 arrive! Year 7 has settled in well to a new world of timetables, ties and teams. It did not take long for new friendships to form and games of handball to start. The school welcomed the boys on their first day with a BBQ lunch. Year 7 ended their first day of high school by writing a letter to their future selves about what it was like on their first day. Ms Prasad their year adviser will keep these sealed and give them back to the boys in six years’ time when they are graduating Year 12. 2019 HSC Results We are very proud of last year’s HSC cohort who achieved some excellent results. Our highest ATAR was 98.75 and almost everyone who applied for university entrance has been successful at matriculation and has received at least one offer. There is still a round of university offers to go but our annual success rate remains incredibly high with about 91% of students successfully receiving offers. As usual the boys have remained in contact with us even after leaving and a group of them will return to speak with Years 11 and 12 about what they now know about the HSC with the benefit of hindsight.

Corona Virus Thanks to everyone for your cooperation with the precautions we have had to take to protect everyone from this emerging global health concern. We had started planning for this even before school returned and the Department issued us with guidelines. We are in touch with every student who has been in China and also with those who are still there. None of these students will return to school until after 14 days back in Australia. None of our school community has been in or near Wuhan. As usual, I have very much enjoyed the teenage rumour mill which always drifts to the extreme over the mundane and accurate. If your son comes home and tells you that our English Head Teacher Ms Finigan has the Corona virus please call this out as fake news! This is just as silly as the rumour last year that I had contracted Ebola when I really had had an operation on my eye. The truth is that Ms Finigan travelled to Hong Kong in the holidays and her 14 days will be up by next Monday.
