Space

It  is  important  for  certain  rooms  to  have  posi1ve  filled  spaces.  Children's  play  rooms  Are  a  prime  example,  considering  they  are  filled  with  fun  toys

and  games  your  kids  can  Play  with.  While  s1ll  keeping  the  fun  atmosphere  of  a  southern  home  fill  children's  play  rooms  with  bright

colors  that  children  will  love.

Red  and  green  decorated  rooms  are  good  for  both  boys  and  girls  since  neither  color  is  gender  specific

The  foyer  to  any  home  is  typically  classic  and  elegant  in  any  southern  home.  The  nega1ve  space  in  a  foyer  should  be  open  and  invi1ng  so  family  and  guest  get  a  great  first  impression  of  your  home.    Usually  the  only  things  that  should  be  in  the  foyer  are  stairs,  maybe  some  sort  of  plant,  possibly  a  rug  and  even  a  picture  on  the  wall

Front  yards  are  also  an  excellent  example  of  nega;ve

space

A  great  example  of  crowded  territoriality  is  the  unique  picture  frames  that  allow  more  than  one  picture.  Pictures  are  always  a  nice  touch  to  any  home!

A  crowded  space  is  typically  never  a  good  thing  however  there  are  a  few  things  that  can  be  added  to  a  southern  home  that  need  to  be  crowded.

Abstract  art,  or  non-‐  objec1ve  art  usually  displays  visual  references  in  the  world.  Abstract  pain1ngs  can  oIen  give  a  feeling  of  depar1ng  from  reality.  Add  an  abstract  pain1ng  to  your  southern  home  to  create  relaxa1on  in  your  home.

Geometric  shape  is  simple  and  can  be  seen  in  a  lot  of  pain1ngs  and  pictures.  The

pain1ng  above  the  dining  room  set

makes  a  non-‐formal  dining  room  stand  out  and  inspires

thought.    The  geometric  shape  in  the  pain1ng  is

very  simple  and  goes  well  with  the

paKerned  rug  under  the  table

Natural  shape  oIen  is  shown  in  pain1ngs  or  pictures  depic1ng  nature.  Add  pain1ngs  like  the  above  to  a  sunroom  or  bedrooms  for  a  calming  effect.

If  you  want  to  add  dynamic  shape  to  your  southern  home  look  for  pain1ngs  that  appear  to  be  never  ending,  always  changing.  Dynamic  shapes  can  really  make  the  viewer  think,  so  consider  adding  pain1ngs  like  the  above  to  a  living  room  or  dining  room.
