Spring and summer 2007 have been busy seasons for the FOTB. After ten years of dedicated service to the band, Jonathan Mendelson ’97 has stepped down as President of FOTB. We thank him for his tireless work and hope that he enjoys the extra free time.

The FOTB Board has been restructured to include four Executive Board positions. The new officers will assume Jonathan’s old duties, and work more closely with the undergrads to budget and with the university to direct fund-raising efforts. New by-laws that provide for this restructuring were passed at the annual meeting during Reunions this past June.

A New Look for Friends of Tiger Band The new board, headed up by President Jim Dickinson ’06, is excited to work with alums, friends, undergrads, and the University to continue Jonathan’s work and help the PUB grow. The other Executive Board are Vice-President Mary Gallery ’07, Treasurer Ben Elias ’05, and Secretary Stuart Lange ’07.

We’re also excited to introduce six new directors who will be joining the board. Laura Collins ’06, Ken Lee ’99, Pat Miller ’03, Mark Pescatore ’01, Adam Ruben ’01, and Jon Snitow ’97 begin three-year terms as directors this fall.

Thanks to your generous support the PUB is thriving. In just the past three years we have replaced the entire drum line, purchased and painted a shiny new band van, and just recently added five brand new trumpets to our inventory. The band has grown considerably, with nearly fifty returning undergrads and a great prospective class of 2011. According to the alumni we spoke to at Reunions, this is also the best sounding band in years! Don’t take our word for it: this fall, the band will be releasing a new CD - The Plaid Album.
