P R I M R O S E H I L L overlooks central London and is surrounded by a bustling urban village. This famous landmark, offering a view from the top of one of the world’s largest cities, is the inspiration for the Primrose Hill collection by Hooker Furniture.

Turn-of-the-century charm combines with urban energy to create a timeless design of warmth and tradition. Inspired by 19th Century European antiques and the fashionable Primrose Hill village, the 60-piece furniture collection has a sophisticated urban twist with a vintage vibe. Country meets city as subtle garden-inspired finishes are paired with cosmopolitan flair in soft and sweeping silhouettes.

The two main finishes, Villa Brown and Trellis White, and the designer accent finishes of Garden Grove and Wheat Field can be effortlessly mixed in the same room to create the look of cherished pieces collected during a well-traveled life. Cane and twill are used on selected pieces, adding to the romance and allure of the collection.

Primrose Hill covers every product category including bedroom, dining and living room, home office and home entertainment, along with correlating upholstery from Sam Moore and Bradington-Young.

Vintage hardware with a soft scrollwork pattern adds allure to Primrose Hill, featuring a muted antique brass hardware on the Villa Brown and Wheat Field finishes and a white painted hardware on the Trellis White finish.

• Our top-of-the-line bedroom collections include bottom drawers on major case pieces that are cedar-lined for the aromatic benefit and preservation of clothing.

• Night stands offer recepticles and touch lights under the case.

Of all the aspects of wood furniture, the finish most visibly reflects its character, quality and style. While the finish is one of the last things we do, it’s the first thing you see. That’s why at Hooker, we utilize a multiple-step finish process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an unsurpassed clarity, depth and color richness and durability to our finishes. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes “feel” as good as they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.

What to look for in finishes, drawers and wood furniture construction

Wood & Veneer ConstructionMany of our furniture items are constructed of hardwood solids and veneers or hand-painted finishes over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture. Due to a wide variety of wood species and decorative designs used in our furniture styles, variations in construction are possible.

From our beginning in 1924 in Martinsville, Virginia, founder

J. Clyde Hooker Sr. set a tone of doing business with a personal

Hooker’s EFEC-registered facilities include the corporate office, central distribution center, secondary distribution center and customer support center in Martinsville, Va.; two manufacturing plants, and the offices of Hickory, N.C.-based Bradington-Young and one manufacturing plant/office for Bedford, Va.-based Sam Moore. The AHFA also recognized our company with an Environmental Excellence Award for demonstrating excellence in managing corporate environmental programs.
