6 ProcessorsV CAUTION!

Observe the safety instructions in the chapter “Safety notes” on page 15ff.

V CAUTION!

Processors are modules which can react extremely sensitively to electro-static discharges and which must therefore always be handled with care. After a processor has been removed from its protective sleeve or from its socket, place it with its smooth side down on a non-conducting, antistatic surface. Never push a processor over a surface.

6.1 Installing a second processor

The system board can be upgraded with a second processor. The upgrade kit consists of a processor and a heat sink.

V CAUTION!

Only processors of the same type may be used on the system board. The second processor must have at least the same clock frequency as the first processor. If the two processors have different clock frequencies, they both will operate with the lower clock frequency.

For dual operation, use a suitable multiprocessor operating system.
