As the weather starts turning colder, please remember that if the Westerville City Schools close, all of the Center’s programs are also closed. You may also call the hotline (614-901-6887) to discover whether or not programs are cancelled. New this year, however, is that transportation to essential services (doctor appointments and the grocery store) will be decided by Center staff. If you’re scheduled during school closures, expect a call from Center staff confirming your transportation.

This time of year is always busy for the Center as we celebrate Veterans Day and host Snowflake Castle. Dive into this issue to learn about all the upcoming opportunities.

The newsletter has two new sections which highlight the upcoming volunteer opportunities as well as the transportation options and schedule.

Beginning in 2016, all group fitness classes will require pre-registration for each class. Additionally, Fit Pass Punch Cards will no longer be used. See page 13 for further details.

Finally, we’re going to celebrate 2015 in style with an end of the year Holiday Feast like none other. Check out the details below. You won’t want to miss this event!

Transportation is provided to members residing in the corporate city limits of Westerville for programs at the Senior Center, the Community Center (as available), medical appointments within the Westerville School District, trips to other destinations which are planned by the Senior Center Staff, and shopping trips to grocery stores. Even though we make every effort to provide prompt transportation services, delays of up to one-half hour may occur because of the multiple services we provide and the extensive area we travel.

As the weather starts turning colder, please remember that if the Westerville City Schools close that all of the Center’s programs are also closed. You may also call the hotline (found on the cover) to discover whether or not programs are cancelled. New this year, however, is that transportation to essential services (doctor appointments and the grocery store) will be decided by Center staff.
