Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh inaugurated the new integrated state-of-the-art Terminal 2 at GVK’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), in the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri. K Shankarnarayanan, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Hon’ble Union Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Ajit Singh, our Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. GVK Reddy and our Vice Chairman, Mr. G V Sanjay Reddy alongwith other dignitaries and GVK officials.

GVK has built the new integrated Terminal 2 as an iconic mega-structure (measuring 4.4 million sq. ft.) that will set global benchmarks in airport infrastructure development. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, an American architectural and engineering firm, T2 will have the ability to handle 40-45 million passengers per annum.

Traversing across four-levels, the vertical and compact design of T2 integrating all operations (International, Domestic, Cargo, Ground Handling, Security, Retail etc.) under one roof enables enhanced passenger servicing and operational efficiency of GVK CSIA.

Drawing inspiration from India’s National bird – the Peacock, the design of T2 portrays the magnificent character of the White Peacock, representing flight, as well as rare beauty. The architecture of the new airport terminal essentially and proudly presents a new contemporary India and its possibilities. The new airport terminal is home to India’s largest public Art Program – titled ‘Jaya He’- in the form of a 3 km multistory Art Program that conveys a distinctive narrative of India’s incredible diversity, living in multiple centuries simultaneously.

These awards aim to honour the members who have reached exceptional levels of professional achievements. Chairman, HDFC Limited, Shri Deepak S Parekh was amongst the esteemed jury members at the ICAI Awards 2013.The award recognises Mr. Hiran’s hard work and commitment to the profession and salutes his persistent efforts towards maintaining high standards in his professional and personal engagements.

The title ‘Hawai Mahal’ depicts the new Terminal.Amul has been traditionally creating interesting ads to celebrate major milestones and developments in India. GVK CSIA has also acknowledged Amul in an utterly butterly delicious way.

GVK CSIA has been bestowed with the first ever Forbes India Art Award under the Corporate Commitment to Art category for its magnificent art museum at GVK CSIA T2. These awards recognise excellence in various parts of the art ecosystem that includes collectors, galleries, curators, writers, entrepreneurs, an artists and art initiatives. Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) - GVKPIL

GVK Australia welcomes Mr. Darren Yeates on boardGVK Australia has appointed Mr. Darren Yeates as the Chief Executive Officer for GVK’s Australian operations. Prior to this, Mr. Yeates served as Chief Operating Officer and Acting CEO for Rio Tinto Coal Australia, and brings over 30 years experience in coal mining operations, mine infrastructure and resource sector industries. His expertise would help GVK to now focus on developing the Alpha, Kevin’s Corner and Alpha West mines, having now secured a swag of state and federal approvals.

GVKPIL leads in CDLI Score for utility sector in CDP-13GVKPIL participated in the CDP(Carbon Disclosure Project) Climate Change Program and has secured a CDLI score of 84, to lead the utility sector in CDP-13 (as compared to the sector average of 76). CDP recognizes companies with high-quality disclosure as top scoring companies in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI).Earlier GVKPIL scored 82 in CDP 2012 and 75 in CDP 2011. This high CDLI score in CDP-2013 has been possible because of energy efficient projects and airport accreditation programs to curb carbon emissions.

GVK sponsored tennis player Yadlapalli Pranjala drubbed Anjana Suresh of Canada in straight sets 6-2,6-3 in the girls singles pre-quarterfinals of the ONGC ITF Junior Tennis Tournament.

Pranjala also won the doubles title few weeks earlier at the ITF Grade-2 Tournament held in New Delhi. Congratulations to the rising star.

The 102 National Ambulance service was launched by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri. Akhilesh Yadav in the presence of our Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. GVK Reddy and other dignitaries. This service will transport mothers and neonates to the hospital and back home post delivery.

GVK EMRI, currently operating 988 ambulances under 108 Emergency response service in Uttar Pradesh, will now be able to operate 2000 more ambulances

under 102 scheme.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri. Akhilesh Yadav commended GVK EMRI for its phenomenal contribution towards social upliftment and said that 108 emergency service is proving to be a boon for the people of Uttar Pradesh. GVK’s upcoming 330 MW Shrinagar Hydro Electric Project would also be an asset to the state. He also congratulated GVK for the launch of world class integrated Terminal 2 at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai.

GVK EMRI-Gujarat predicted a considerable rise in assault, non-vehicular trauma and vehicular trauma cases in the densely populated urban centres of Ahmedabad, Vadodara etc during the Uttaryan (Kite festival).

In order to handle the expected surge in trauma cases, GVK EMRI had deployed 506 additional ambulances across the state and additional communication, dispatch officers and doctors at the response centres to attend calls. The well planned strategy enabled efficient emergency response management during this festival.
