In Literacy this week, we are starting on our new story called ’ Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl.

We are learning about character descriptions.

Tell somebody what has happened so far. Talk about:Who does Charlie live with? How did they all sleep in a small house?Why couldn’t they just move house?What was Mr. Bucket’s job?What food did they eat? Why was it special on Sundays?How do we know that Charlie liked chocolate? What words does the writer use?Why does the writer use the word ‘tiny’ many times when talking about how Charlie ate his chocolate bar?

To use similes and metaphors to describe characters. To use interesting vocabulary to describe characters. To create a character description.

Using the information that you know about Charlie so far, discuss his character and come up with some super similes to put into sentences.

Think about Charlie’s appearance, how he acts and his personality.Try doing the same with another character.
