The Child Abuse Prevention Programme (CAPP), now operating as part of
the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST), is a primary

is to reduce vulnerability to child abuse and bullying through the
provision of continuing professional development (CPD) for school staff,
information sessions for parents and boards of management and
personal safety education for children (the Stay Safe programme) at
primary school level.
CAPP offers a range of services to primary schools that aim to increase
awareness and understanding of child abuse and child protection and the
role and responsibilities of school personnel in that regard.
Requests for in-school support on the implementation of the Stay Safe
