A Pavement Pounders Project

3/9/2011

Pavement Pounders is run by Maryanne Grant-Traylen & David Lay

Maryanne is a published writer and journal editor.

David is a visual artist and teacher.

Re-Branding of Pavement Pounders David & Maryanne worked together initially to devise and deliver guided walks on varied themes. In this work, we both draw on our respective professional experience. For 2011, the year of the Folkestone Triennial, we are working on projects in which we plait together the three strands of writing, visual art and event devising. This is not to say that we shall not work independently, if and when the spirit moves, but now all our activities will sit under the umbrella of Pavement Pounders. Now, we are working on “Pride of Place” five related projects, soon to be detailed on our website. Two of these; Bizarre Crossings, a combined local history and visual art event and Transitions a collection of writings will be presented as Triennial Fringe events.
